Billings Mt or Denver Co. From a Mountain Riders perspective. If you had to chose one of these cities to live in or within and hour of, which would you pick and why?

denver has a better chance for some female attention, billings is my go to town right now and it kind of sucks. theres alot more going on in denver but it comes with the price of yuppies, tree huggers, and d bags.granted they are every where but obviously more in a higher population.

probably more riding areas near denver but also with a price, crowded parking lots, traffic, sled cops, noise regulations, etc...

billings is within 2ish hours of three different ranges, less traffic, gets more granolaish the further west. still is stuff going on in billings but dosnt come close to denver

Never been to Billings. Denver sucks, prolly because I live within 2 hours of it. So, I choose Billings.

I live in Bozeman, but work and spend a lot of time in Billings. From an economic perspective, Billings seems to be in its own little world. Housing is more affordable, jobs are more plentiful and better paying, and it is the largest "city" in MT. In my opinion it doesn't have much else going for it. My wife has been here a few times to visit if I am working and often remarked how there isn't much to do for how large it is. I tend to agree. Please don't flame me Billings peeps! I grew up in Great Falls and would probably choose Billings over Great Falls if I had to. I think Denver is your best bet. Bozeman is okay, but you pretty much have to be a millionaire now to live there and it is getting way too overcrowded.:face-icon-small-hap

Thanks for the info. Ive been to Denver and stayed a few days. I drove through billings a couple of times but never stopped there to check any thing out. This is a decision the wife and I may be up for in a couple of years so just trying to get some input. I live in a little town that doesnt have much going on at all most of the time so as for stuff to do I could see either one being and improvement. This would be more of a want to move than a have to so we are going to check both out. And the reason I chose these two areas is because thats where my wife would be able to work through her current job. Oh ya and this probably wouldnt be a permanent move either. Just for a few years.

If only you lived 3 hours away..Denver would suck less

I doubt it. I have never liked Denver. Whren I feel the need to go to a "city" I head to Grand Junction. Now, the only reason I ever go to Denver is the Snow Show. If I am buying something then I try like Hell to talk them into meeting me at the Bergan Parkway or El Rancho as the locals call it.

Just curious, what makes denver bad? I always considered moving there when I finished school to be closer to the mountains and the lady I'm with wants to live in a big city for whatever reason :face-icon-small-ton

Comparing Denver to Billings would be like comparing Billings to Miles City. Not even the same. Depends what you want. If you want to live in an area where there are over 3 million people in an 90 mile radius then Denver would be the place. If you want an area where there are 120 to 130k people in a 30 mile radius then Billings would be the place. If you like to drink and play poker machines you would love Billings, casino on every corner. I have been to Denver and the surrounding areas many times and there is much to do there but would never want to live in that rat race.

There would be a lot better riding a lot closer to anywhere around Billings, bar none.

There are easy ho's in Billings though because it's a college town.

Denver has its fair share of easy ho's, but the good riding is at least 3 hours away.

IDK, I've been here since last April and so far it's a nice place to live, lot of variety, but overall I think I'd prefer living in a small town again.

Not that Billings is small, but Denver is friggen' huge.

i have to ask why you say that ...

billings has nothing close to the drug issues in Denver

no drug problems in canada eh

I went to Denver once for a week for a mission trip. walking through a park one day I saw more drugs and methheads than I've seen my entire life. even saw a guy get arrested there. never seen that crap in montana

Lol! Wife kinda frowns on the "easy ho thing"
