Curious as to who's watched this and what they thought. Personally, with my point of view at this particular time in my life, I thought it was an interesting flick to say the least.

Watched it, liked it, agreed with many points Maher made(and I'm not a big fan of Bill Maher
) Waiting for the inevitable red rep this comment will bring me from the extremists

I can't stand him and he really isn't that smart....or funny. Never got his appeal, anyone can bash but dude take some pride in your jokes. Guess I'm more a Prior, or Rock or Cosby or Carlin fan. At least Carlin had some thought into his stuff.
For the record, I think his view points on God are wrong.

I agree... Carlin, Prior, Murphy, Cosby, Hartman and others are all my favorites for comic releif and some great stand up routines. I guess I am looking at this from more of a documentary from his vantage point. He's only biased being toward Non-denomination, should I say.
He's a well know and contraversial person talking about all kinds of religion and I think that's what kept my attention.
I moved to Utah from Michigan so it ws a bit of coulture shock but the LDS community seem to be good people and it's the FLDS that worry me. This film brought to my attention the idealogy of kolob for instance.

For the record all of these guys except Cosby, had acts on the subject of religion and god and not in a good way!!
true, but they had some class not just F those whack jobs, etc. That seems to be his routine, swear a ton....and yes I know Prior and Rock cuss alot, yet somehow it was second to the bit....what I have seen of Maher is a guy who swears and thinks it will make his line funny.

It pisses me off that he calls himself a "Libertarian" and his artard fan base doesn't seem to understand he's nothing more than a garden variety Hollywood dip5hit liberal. And well said above, he's not funny or intelligent.

I agree on all counts! Maybe someone else should've stepped up and put together something similar and it would've done better. My girlfriend has the same to say about him as most of you but she thought it was pretty good. Thank god she's open minded!

We all know the old man who swears like it was the first thing he did and it sounds real good and natural. Then you get some punk high school kid who just cusses to cuss and he feels cool and thinks it sounds cool. Prior is the old man and Maher is the punk.
I'm not saying the other guys didn't bag on religion, etc....just had a better style and delivery to it....
good stuff.....Carlin is taking shots at the organized religion(catholic church was his background).....and I agree with some of his points.
Note how he ties stuff together with cursing.....the stuff in between is great.
Now show me a clip of Maher that is this well done.

Nope as all ready stated I haven't seen it and most likely won't....if it's in the same style and taste of his show and his comedy. It' slike Micheal Moore, can't stand him and won't watch his stuff either.
