Yeah, Like our Governors last election where the republican nominee won twice by hundreds of votes until our democrat run, liberal owned state gave the election to the democrat by less than a couple hundred votes after the third re-count.

Guess the 2000 Presidential election doesn't count then since it took 3 Florida recounts and a supreme court decision to give the election to Bush, boy in hindsite what a great move, largest deficit in the nations history, two wars going on; one that was run the wrong way for 5yrs while forgetting we even had a 2nd one going on that was the home of our terrist attack on 911. Our ability to have infuence in the world vastly deminished by the pi$$ on the world mentality and the broke back mountain cowboy go it alone (in this case your domestic partner VP) vision. Oh lets not forget about the fed chief and treasury sec forgetting about wallstreet regulation on the morgauge mess (this part was a bipartison) F...up spanning two admins and 2 presidents and finally the evaporation of a true capitalism economy with several big bailouts and nationalized private business and banks sector. All of this while ignoring immigration, security, and future energy needs. Hmm sign me up for another 4 more years with a president that uses a dribble cup and a (Hotty) VP that doen't know the constutional defination of what her job would be. only difference between that and the washington governor election last time, is that in Florida, all the recounts came back with bush wins... yet the dems couldn't and wouldn't concede so they took it to the supreme court and lost......
In Washington, they kept recounting until they got the miraculous and magical result they wanted.

I can't speak to the particulars of the Washington recount since I am not from that state and didn't watch or read much about the details of it. The Florida count was a Freaking mess no matter how you look at it. In reality we will never know who won, hanging chads, absentee ballets not being counted on and on the bottom line is we got the president we got and we have since had to live with the results of that leadership for the last 8 years. Great american patroits such as Gen Colin Powell do not feel confortable with this Rep ticket, did anyone happen to listen to his 6mins of reasoning on Meet the Press? Is he a "liberal traitor" as some on here have pointed out if you disagree with their point of view? I do not think so. Look I'm not thrilled with the choices we have this year but for me at least there is no way I can tolerate another 4 years of the same general policies and leadership qualities as the last eight it is as simple as that for me.

Sure that's all pretty much true except, Greenspan worked under Clinton and Bush, he admits there were problems. This entire mess didn't happen under Bush, it's been building up for a long time. Also, there are many reasons for this crash, and I don't think you can just pin it on one person. There's suppose to be oversight committees watching this stuff in the house and senate, where are they? Dem controlled aren't they? Had the housing bubble not been there, we would have gone through this crash during the stock market crash under Clinton.
Don't forget, we were attacked, and hopefully would have fought back no matter who was president. (don't forget they tried to knock down the towers under Clinton, the first time, and we didn't take care of the problem). So, going into Afghanistan was a mistake? Would we have been attacked again if we hadn't gone into Afghanistan? The Iraq war is definitely arguable, IMO. But, in retrospect, most of the Democrats gave W he green light. Which brings us back around to the truth. There's been lots of mistakes made, some may turn out to have been better the least of two evils, but Congress has power to control the president, and it's Dem controlled, and it has refused to do anything. With the evidence against both parties, I fail to see how you could single one out for this mess.
Under Gore, you would looking at a bunch of Wilderness signs around New Meadows. Kerry, who knows, but he was too stupid to beat Bush, pretty lame. Dems should have run someone capable of winning, who's fault is that? Winter travel plans aren't done for Payettee National Forest, you really want them completed under a Al Gore Interior department?
No matter what some Libs tell you, McCain aint no Bush. That I can guarantee you, you will recognize right off the bat.

Desperado, You make some good points and I can't argue about President Bush not making the best president this country has ever seen. (Not even close) but I doubt we will EVER have a president that becomes all things to this country. Those kind never get past their own party's nomination.
It's a question of trying to get the lesser of the two evils elected these days. You know, the one who will do the least damage.
Do you honestly feel Gore would have been a better selection?
I think his 15 minutes are up (Thank God) along with his "Global warming fanatic fruitcakes".
How 'bout wishy washy whatsisname? would he have had the guts to stand up against terrorism or would he help perpetuate it by ignoring it like President Clinton?
