Highly unlikely. I am sure it is a wicked hill climbing machine. That just isn't my bag anymore. I had to get a group together for todays ride because I didn't want to go with the other group that just wants to highmark above treeline all day. The 100+ lbs of extra weight can not be overcome with more power. It is simple physics, the only way to get that pig to dance like an Axys would be to put it on a 80 lb diet.
If they were priced like the rest of the sleds IE; I can pick up a new holdover for $10k, I would try one. For $15k+ it just isn't happening.

I don't even know how that is possible. 50cc more displacement but it still has the stupid floppy track and wobbly rear suspension. Nothing more than a dolled up XM with 5 extra hp. How does THAT manage to hand your azz to you?
We found a nice long sidehill yesterday and I was riding one of the old '10 Cat loaner sleds we keep around. The G4 couldn't hold a sidehill as well as the old Cat and has been repeatedly schooled by my Axys.
Maybe polaris and skidoo are having a contest to see who can produce the most unreliable sled on mtn. Didn't somebody on here buy like 3 of them and everyone of them broke a bulkhead,

I dont know about it being the biggest "flop" of the season, but it was definitely overhyped by Dave Neurotic and others with their long glowing reports. Sure had fans whipped up into a frenzy . . . . LOL
A classic case of over-committing and under-delivering. The other Mfgs have done the same thing though. The '18 model should have most of the problems fixed . . .and then it will shine

why are you not riding the axis?
Just needed to run the old ones. Nobody seems to want to ride them... I had a great time! Definitely wore me out to ride the old chassis but amazing what it really can do.
Yes my Axys is suffering rpm fade, wont pull over 7700. Might be the VES cable, or a relay, or motor mounts. The Cat pulled 8100 all day, that old Zuk is pretty impressive. I am going to drop it at the dealer and let them figure it out. It has a new motor, rebuilt primary with new spring, new belt, 58gr weights. Snappy on the bottom but pathetic up top. Tired of the crappy quality for sure but still the best tree machine I have ever been on.
Something like that... our fearless leader who immediately professed his love for them despite all of the issues, and ordered another one...

I demo'ed a green '16 along side my then '14 Pro and my buddies '15 XM. It was no contest, I liked the Pro better than the '16 Cat and I like the Axys more than either. Talked my buddy into a '16LE holdover this year. He loves it, I just like it. Needs $2500 in weight reduction mods. The Poo needs a $2500 Indy Dan motor and the Doo needs a $2500 skid and track... They all seem to need something and yet still cost $14k new. Heck, nobody even really knows what comes on the '18 Mtn Cat. How do they expect you to write a check for that?

Guys jesus Christ, the guy likes them. Let a man have his own opinion Hes coming on yamies and Im sure this sled feels awesome. Everyone has their own opinion. Some guys like some things that others don't. If you like it great, if you don't great. I think you haters are a bit rough on the Gen4. my 165 isn't half as bad as what some of you are saying. Does it have issues, sure. is there any other manufacturer that has done a total chassis and motor change not have issues? (IE: 2012 Cat) And it is much better than last years T3. Guys saying otherwise are just trying to start a internet war.
