The last 4 days my group and I have been riding the Snowy Range, and today we decided to trailer over to the Sierra Madres. One of the guys in our group had been there a few times, and another had been riding there for like 15 years. After our "guide" dropped us down into some very steep terrain, we soon found ourselves lost and "stuck." After a while I could hear some sleds coming our way, and finally I saw a sweet looking Pro Rmk come down through the trees, along with a couple turbo Yamaha's and m8's. These guys were a lifesaver, and without them I think we would still be out in the "Turbo trees" (DC, I think you were shocked to see us there.)

So, all I can say is Thank you to the group of guys, especially Dcturbo (David?) and the guy with the white M8 that got us back into safe terrain. I was pretty worried at first, but thanks to you guys I'm sitting in a nice warm cabin tonight!

Jack.

P.S. the riding in the Madres is awesome :face-icon-small-ton

Always nice when someone can help you out and someday you hopefully return the favor.

Ahhh your making me blush..

Jack your more than welcome.
When we were stopped for lunch I could here your group and could tell you were following our tracks. I made a comment to my group that whoever is following our tracks was lost.
Yes I was shocked to see you guys down there! And I am sure you understand why now.
If your group comes down again let me know I will try to meet with you and show you around..
cheers

Ahh...I almost shed a tear reading that story David...haha

Yeah, i'll have to let you know! If my buddy wouldn't have set off a small avalanche on the way down, we wouldn't have been so worried! That's some tough terrain!

Where abouts is said spot???? I was in the madres 17-21? Didn't see another sled!

the "said spot" is a little ways to the North and East of Bridger peak. keep dropping down steep mountain sides and you'll find it...

...but you might not get back out without being luckily found by some locals.

jk

Did you find the steam engine NE of Bridger??? The folks I ride with know the area very well! We rode the whole ridge line on thursday without dropping down, boy was that fun!!!!

In the mining camp? We didn't get that far.

Are you the guys that were at Shively's on Monday morning?

Bingo!!!!!!!!! That was us at shivleys on Monday.
Yes there is an old Steam Engine from the mining days, out in the middle of nowhere back east of bridger area, easy to get into, but can be a challenge to get out with the right snow conditions. Last year we could only see about 2 inches of the smoke stack, this year you could see the whole front end. I have some pic's i will post once i load them!

Hey Riley Why don't you go work on "How to get stuck in a snow drift 4 times in 3 feet"!!

When you coming over again??

If Brandon, Cameron, and I hadn't been dragging around the 2 guys you brought I wouldn't have neen so tired! Haha...anyways, not riding this weekend. Parents are coming down and we are going to the Cowgirls ball game. Weekend of Feb 5th we'll be in Saratoga. I'll give you a call before then.
