Today's Riding Report

Just got back from riding today. There is defiantly more snow. Some areas of good powder, not a very good base. You still have to be careful of the rocks, stumps, down trees, etc… It does look better though. Hard to say how much new snow. The wind has been blowing pretty hard and moving it around.

Any pictures from today?

Just came back from a weekend of riding out of Bear lodge. Got 12" of powder on thursday night and friday and riding was great.
PS. Rick and Roberta at Bear lodge are GREAT people. Been going there for over 10 year. You treat them with resteck and they will do the same! Merry Christmas

12-24-7 update

We had a blast today. The snow has improved, but you have to watch for the rocks and stumps. There are pockets of good snow, the fields were windblown again. It was snowing pretty hard when we came down the mountain. Looks like a nice white Christmas for us.

snowing at bear

I'm staying at Bear Lodge for the week. Good riding today, hit some SEX stones. It's 10 pm. Already got 6-8 inches and still snowing hard. Will be good riding on Christmas Day.

bighornrmk, I am flying out from Joliet, IL on the 24th to stay at the Bear. Firts time in the mountains, can't wait. Any tips, pics, places or info you can offer up before we go I would appreciate it. I ride a 136" Crossfire in UP and North Wisco, we are renting 155" Dragons from the Bear. Nice to see they are starting to get pounded with some snow. Have a safe trip.

Anybody got a new report? We're thinking about leaving from eastern South Dakota and going to the Black Hills but who knows, maybe we'd keep going and go to the Big Horns instead....depending on the snow.

snow

Got here Sunday. A foot or more Christmas Eve. NOAA says 4 more tonite. Wife and I rode today out by freeze out point, hit some meadows that had 2 to 3 ft. snow in them. Great riding. Wife says she is now a POWDERHOUND.

Plenty of Pow in the Horns if you know where to go...

Needs to setup for a base and keep snowing but we found lot's o deep today...cell phone pics not very good quality.
