''BIG-BORE'' 800r

do these kits have there own cylinders or do you have to send in your stock mono to get it bored and re nicked? just asking because i have a set of jugs that are on the way, and the other set that i have needs some work, its just the one side i have to fix, a small weld and re-nicked.

I have Big Johns 860 in my 120" XP, best this year was 125 on the speedo and 119 gps, I have had 115 and 117 gps very repeatable, never really had the primo conditions for top end / wanted to try to hit 120 gps

Big John has excellent customer service and always answer/returns calls

one more note I had ran his 840 in my rev for 2 years and it alway ran strong !!

isee..but.. the only difference is my riding style is jumps drops and hill climb just because most of my riding buddys are all long tracks. not really into speed unless its momentum going up hill.

The best thing about the BJ860 is the torque, yes I do alot of lake racing and trail riding, but the 860 has so much down low and a mid pull that I can get out front and hold them off

I know you will be very happy with this in a long track, the torque/pull is great !! I bet you can relate to that !!!

that sounds alot more realistic then some numbers i have heard...

that would make a total of 170hp on alberta air:D:D...

i talked with another gent with rkt bulid that was alot higher than that, lol

first sorry for the same name hymark860. I'll get her changed.

anyhow I have Kelsey's 860r b.b on a 2008 XP. on our local dyno we gained a true 19 hp over stock.

440 mains
crankshop single pipe
MBRP can
14.1 domes

I don't think any of these BB kits have made over 165HP (corrected)w/'Alberta Air' on pump gas. With reputable Alberta Dyno operators .

In alberta/BC you have:

-Tom at Mot's machine in St. Albert. good dude.

-Turbo Al in Revy. Haven't seen his stuff run but seems like a good guy. Everything I have dealt with him has been good.

-Ralphy at Split Second in Valleyview. Top Notch guy. He does all my motor work. Rep speaks for itself.

-Ted at Terra Alps in Kelowna. Never dealt with the guy.

Those are the ones I am aware of...might be more??

If you are a pull and go dude, sit at the bottom of the hill and drink 3 beer and then do a 2 min pull up a hill. These kits are not for you. Nobody to blame but yourself when they come apart. Wiseco's work totally fine, they need proper setup and a dude riding the sled who isnt a total shmuck.

Snap, Portgrinder must have heard about you.Mabye this is not something you want to be doing to your sled anytime soon.Might wanna go Yammy so you can just ride worry free.

500+ kms on my Split Second 885....runs as smooth and reliable as stock...pulls hard! I always warm it up good when totally cold....make a couple of easy "burps" after a long pit stop before thrashing on it....no problems.

I haven't touched a darn thing on the motor....playing with clutching still....but that's it.

I never had any problems with Sled Shed's big bore either.

Snap just get the motor work done and quit thinking about it.You will only need 1/2 throttle too beat KD anyways so I wouldnt worry about any problems with the engine.Looks like you and Dave B might be neighbours.

Let me know what you decide as I just took out SLP dome piston and jug with 1100 miles and no warranty and still trying to figure out which way to go?Getting tired of these Doo crap motors and laying in the corner crying and licking my nuts, lucky dogs!

I have an RKT 860. It runs very well. I would highly recommand an 860 for the 800R. If your 800R is down I'd call around and see who has one on the shelf ready to go. Not as familiar with the canada guys, but I know RKT has one ready to exchange now and BigJohn usually has some as well.
