BETTER BOARD Problems...

Those of you who don't know...better boards are supposed to eliminate snow from your side boards, but did anyone or has anyone had problems with these things doing what they're supposed to do? What i noticed is that they let in more snow than they let out. Maybe these boards are made for only trail riders only, but for my mountain sled(my 09 Dragon 163) I love to boondock and hillclimb. My buddy from Spokane had just the stock boards on his same model dragon, and followed me where ever i went, and it appeared that MY BOARDS were packed full of snow while his had 60% LESS snow than i did! Has anyone else experienced this problem????, because if i had to go back i would have just left the boards stock.

Riden mashed potatos?

I found that I get about the same snow on the boards but sure is easier to clean them out. I don't know if they were the greatest creation for a sled but that's my opinion.

My 04 Rev had tiny holes in the boards stock:mad:. Couldnt keep the snow and ice off of them. Whole different game now that the better boards are in :) I for one think that they let more snow in but it cant stay there. The footwell never has build up any more...kinda nice on the way home. Dino

Coating?

Are yours coated or raw aluminum? Mine ('05 King Cat) aren't coated and are snow magnets. I spray them with Pam and it helps. At the end of this season I'll pull them off and try powder coating them.

i have the powder coated black version on my "mountain sled" 09 turbo d8 and i do nothing but hill climb and boondock, i've ridden in colorado powder as well as idaho powder and have no complaints at all they do exactly what they are suppose to do, if i stop and look at my boards compared to somebody's stock boards there is no comparison of snow build up mine are always empty except at the back where the support bar mounts to the tunnel there is build up there.

On my KK they made the snow stick worst and are much harder to clean it off. $150 to make it worse!

Mine work absolutely awesome. First sled I've put them on and I'll have them on every sled from now on. I love not having to kick the boards all the time now

Installed a pair on my 07 RMK. Love them, way better than stock.:)

I have had snow come up on the board through the whole when carving sharp, but worse than stock? Not even. Better Boards are the best addition to my sled.

yup best thing for the nytro by far stronger and only build up is in the toe well and thats unavoidable!!!!thumbs up for f-bomb's better boards!!!!!!love them

I've got Snow Eliminators on my KK and they work great. I can't remember what I paid for them...but they were worth every penny.

Mine are coated and they work perfect. By far the best MOD. All my buddys want a set. That being said, mine will fill up with snow but at no time do I ever lose traction. I know that sounds weird and when the snow gets in there just stomp the boards a couple times and it is all gone. Are yours coated? I really think the coating is what sets them off.

I rode most of last year with the stock boards and then put on the better boards. They are way BETTER. Just stomp out the snow and you are done, that can't be done with the stock boards. BTW, I am a mountain rider, and last w/e the powder was so deep I was choking on it. The boards work.

I have the CPC boards on my 900's And I am starting to feel the same way! I have to clean them off 4-5 times a day and it is a pain in the a$$.

I've had them on every sled except my Apex and I'm working on putting them on it as well... Not saying that I don't get some buildup but cleaning out with a stomp of the boot is much easier then kicking at the snow all the time with the stock boards. Everyone in my group rides with Better Boards, from fully modded turbo Yamaha's to stock IQ's and everyone loves them...

I'm running fbombs better boards on my 09 D8 and I believe they are much better than stock.... but... on my m1000 I fastlanes plastic boards and the snow absolutely did not stick! And yes I do know that they say they add no strength to the boards at all by some opinions but I ran the plastic and my cousin ran stock. We are both are same size guys and ride the same mine weren't bent at all where as his was bow'd. Anyhow I do believe they are much better than stock but I don't think they are better than fastlanes, and if i hadn't already bought them, Id buy fu boards...where it is easy to just kick the boards clean I never even had to kick my boards clean wiht the plastic.. just my .02 on the subject.
