Best Video This Year?

I would have to agree! I have the new slednecks, schooled, boondockers, and 509 movies!! All of them are great videos but I enjoyed the 509 movie the best!! Slednecks had some awesome sections in it also. lots of air time from a few of the riders.

Just buy all of them and choose for yourself lol

I think Schooled 4 is the best movie I have seen this year! Then it would be 509 volume 7, then probably Slednecks!!

Crazy where these films have come from over the last few years.

3-5 years ago it was nothing but hill climbing, chute slaying, hilicoptoer shooting madness.

Now it's a bunch of nancy's boondocking through the lilly's and jumping back and forth over their sleds when doing the side hill action. (I will say the crazy SOB's that are bailing off 100' drops are just nuts) But over all not to impressed with any of them this year.

And one more blast. Where in the heLL do they get the music. Nothing worse then your ears bleeding at the end of the video from the head banging punk stuff.

I am sure it won't sell but I want to see big HP, climbing, crazy stuff, a few drops, some boondocking, and a mix.

One of the films I watched this year (no name needed) was nothing but boondocking and catching a sled cross infront of a bunch of trees as it goes out of site.

Sorry just not a great year.

I also like the rider bio's and sled details. Tell me what ya got.

(other than a polaris pro)

:)

I purchased a few this year as while. and I would have to say its a 3 way tie for me! To me they all had the same kind of mix of music, footage, style!

509 v7, schooled 4 and Fourcast 2

This might hurt for some film makers but here's my two cents..

Honestly, I'm consistantly disapointed with sled films. They are a few years behind ski and snowboard films. Too many stationary camera shots. Go Pro shots facing the rider are entertaining for 2 seconds, most go pro footage in general. Most music is pretty bad, nickle bag like crap. Slowmo and timelasp, we get it already. And unless your throwing huge whips I don't want to see you hitting any man-made jumps, doing dorky FMX tricks from 10 years ago, freestyle is dead, don't remind us. Let see the good stuff, dudes going hard, taking risks and generally not giving a F with some good camera work that gives us the viewer a unique view.

And that's what I really think...

I'd have to partially agree. Ya can only watch so much slow-mo pow turns before it just gets boring.

The worst is seeing the same footage in three different films. Burandts BA and Schooled share much of the same footage. We don't care who the new side kicks are and we don't care that you got to take a jet to the X Games. Garbage filmaking as far as im concerned.

I have to agree on the lack of overall quality. There were some great moments scattered across a bunch of videos, some great cinematography, and some so-so stuff. It's like they had a bunch of filler to put in there. Some of the videos only need to be half the length. And for me, there was way too much rider interview stuff going on. And the musical choices could stand some improvement.

Maybe we should sit down all these film crews and make them watch a few days of the Warren Miller films from some time ago...

I got one for ya Thunder.... NO Polaris Pro's.... (well 1, for a second)... no TURBOS, no Sponsors, its what ya ACTUALLY see in the backcountry from riders that push THEMSELVES to go bigger, go better. But know if they wreck the sled or get hurt... theres No "backup plan". Theres stilla job to go to, a family to tend too... thats most of the feedback I get as to why those who have seen it REALLY like it... "just guys in the backcountry you just may happen across one day, who'll tell ya' HECK YA, COME ON ALONG!" The point of the ride isnt to make a film... its for the challenge, the comeraderie, the ADRENALINE RUSH, the VIEWS... we just roll film along the way.:yo:

PM me if your interested...

Martin I'm going to have to totally disagree with you on this one, pulling tight tree lines and being able to hop from one side of the sled to the other while still holding your composure to make that one line is what its about. A lot of people can point there sled and go, not as many can ride there sled like a mtn bike and bang off trees on a steep azz slope going where ever they want with ease. Tree riding "nancy" style is technical as it gets, and to me more fun than pounding a hill or building a jump for 2hrs to go 50ft. But then again we all have different riding styles and thats why some people still ride kitty kats....:face-icon-small-win

Brad, I don't care. You know as well as I do we see this kind of boondocking tree riding every weekend. I see normal every day back country riders every weekend. If i lived in the flat lands back east I would say "cool video" but to me I don't like any of them this year. (I will say the team 57 video was pretty good) just because it was a bit more old school. go big or go home. I don't want to watch what every tom, dick and harry can do. I want to see the "holy crap that was *ucking NUTS" type of stuff.

don't want to ruffle to many feathers but the old school thunderstuck, Krazy Canadian, etc, were killer videos.

Now I am not saying that all the things you listed arn't fun. because they are a blast. But it's things I do and our group does every weekend. So show me something new, show me the awesome mountains of other areas.

And again I don't need to see the chris brandt cross over move in 10 different videos. Once a year is enough IMO.

Tree riding is one thing but it better be bitchen terrian and killer mountians. Half these shots are filmed in a gully somewhere.

I dont think youve personaly seen real tree riding at its finest...you watch someone who truely knows what they are doing and you will go HOLLY CHIT, take a trip with Phil Yribar. He will show you the *ucking NUTS you are looking for with out climbing a hill.

Something that hasnt been done before...we talking front flip? ha
