Best turbo specific pipe

CPI was going to charge me around $425 US for the pipe, plus shipping and brokerage and exchange and the wait at the border. I dont know if that is coated or not. Neil's Performanca Pipes are $750 CA for just the pipe and another $130 for ceramic coating, all done in Edmonton. It is made of 16g steel and the welds are circumfrence welds, there are no welds then run longtitudal, like the stock pipe. It is warrantied for life, according to the conversation I had with Neil and is custom built and tuned for MY xp. It will be the only pipe I should ever need for this sled. Will have to retune my jetting and ride....FINALLY. Another buddy has ordered one from Neil for his xp as well. He has been fixing cracks on his stock pipe too.

Wow. sounds like you have to pay alot more and it is a hassle to get a cpi in canada. still cheaper then the neals pipe though.
The only thing I question is how do they build a pipe custom tuned for your sled if they don't have your sled and run your sled with the pipe on it? I would just think that since cpi builds and rides turbo xp's with their pipe on it they would build a better pipe.
I would like to ride my sled or dyno it back to back with a cpi and a neals pipe, but I don't have the funds or resources to waste on that. I am very happy with the way my sled runs so I will leave it. Header wrap is kind of a pain and does not look as nice, but it holds the heat in alot better then ceramic coat.
I don't know why I am even argueing over what or who makes a better pipe. I am happy with my decision. Let us know how yours works when it is done. :face-icon-small-coo

guys ,,

Neil called to get the specifics of Shawns engine combo..

second.

My good friend Don Emery has been patiently waiting for 3 months to gat a pipe from cpi as well as powerjets..

CPI is dragging their feet or just uninterested, Last year January,I ordered 2 rt turbo pipes from them,, got a call in AUGUST that they were ready to ship???

Mike should just say hes not interested.and stop leaving these folks waiting for another halverson fiasco...

Donny has gone to Neils for his 2 pipes and should have called Bryce for powerjets by now too.

Good luck to ya shawn,,, you deserve all the fun the island guy is having...

Gus

I guess I got lucky last year. I called cpi and they had the pipe made and shiped in a few days I believe. No way it was over a week.

Islandoo and I will be doing some side by side testing in Feb. Our builds are identical except that he is running an intercooler and I am not. We did this on purpose to see the differences in the two sleds. We both started with Dave Halversons kit, but there is virtually none of Daves kit left in the sleds. Engine mods were done, plumbing was changed, clutching was adjusted and lots of testing. I was running 14lbs on 70/30 94 pump gas/c12 and it was a freakin animal...hard to hang to....difficult to keep my head down. Full shift out on the clutches and the TS skid was awesome, until I blew the stock exhaust. Really looking forward to this new pipe....it should be the last piece of the puzzle.
I will keep you posted.

Well my stock pipe blew today. A wooping 6 pounds of boost. One more thing that has broke on this stupid sled. Ordered a new pipe from spi today. Said would be ready next week. Put the turbo on in November, and still has not worked one day. You guys may want to come ride with me next time. There may be on 09 turbo xp left on the mountain for the free taking.

Skyking, I feel your frustration. Installed mine last Feb never ran right until this year, finally dialed in now and runs great. Haven't had to open the hood on the mountain in about 4 rides now. Running 10 lbs of boost and is worth the time be patient! PM me if I can help at all with any questions.
