Best Track Upgrade For 05 Summit X 151

Currently have an 05 Summit X with Factory 151x16x2 and want to upgrade the track for additional traction. I ride with guys on newer sleds, 09 M8(153) and 09 RMK 800(151 or comparable) and have no problem on races on hard pack, but cant seem to climb as well in deep powder. I love the sled and don't want to upgrade it at this time. Engine is able to hold 8000 rpm on climbs, but I think newer 2"+ tracks might help deep snow abilities, but not sure what limits on lug height or length options without adding to rail length fit. Thanks in advance for any advice. twobobz (Robert Robertson)

I put a 151X2.25 Powdermax on my 05 last year and love it. A huge improvement from the stock track. Lugs clear fine too. You could do a 2.5, but you will have to change drivers or do a D&R.

There is no such a thing as to big a track in length or lug hieght X 16" wide. The bigger You go the happier You'll be.

Not always true. there is always a sacrifice when you go to a longer track. Especially if you like to ride in the spring.

I can throw my 162 around better than a lot of 151 riders, but put me on a 151 and it is like riding an MXZ!

My buddy put a 159x16x2.25 on his and loves it. I must say that it does float really well, and does not seem to be much more difficult to turn. It was a big improvement and I would recommend it to any one that goes to the areas that are not well used. If you ride areas where you get a lot of traffic I would think that the 151 would be enough for all but the really heavy snow days.
