Best sled for it's respective year...

Another vote for 97 700 RMK, made the XLT/Storm/Ultra a heavy POS.

I do agree the first Rev's made the other two--AC/Pol change the way they built sleds.

We'll leave the 900 RMK out of this one. ;)

'93-'94 Polaris XLT SKS. With pipes, I think these things were the best all around sled for a few years until the '97 700 twin came out, which basically obsoleted the triples. There were a few worthy challengers, though.

those were king doggies, unless a 94 700zr or an 800zrt or a 900tcat showed.

even for 97, the 900tcat whooped behind.

for 96 i gotta hand it to doo for the summit.

my vote for 1964

my 1964 foxtrac. way ahead of its time. has electric start. reverse. and is a 4 stroke.:D it took yamaha 40 years to get all that in a production sled:eek:

1968 Moto-Ski Zephyr. First long track sled, and they only did it so you could sit more people. Who knew they'd go thru snow so much better! A whopping 18HP too, and you didn't have to order the sno-pro to get orange! Holy crap am I old!

PUD - the Summits never came stock with a 2" lug until 1996ak - Yes, 1996 was the first year that a stock sled made it over the top at Jackson - ridden by Mark T - Summit 670

The first Summit to carry 2" lugs standard was a 1998 670 Summit
(not the Summit X, it came with 1.75 as it had larger drivers)
