Best sled for 4k

I'm currently ridding an 04 700rmk 151 with a few goodies but it has 5k on the motor. I'm wanting to upgrade to a newer chassis but i'm kinda drawn between an m7 ( i would prefer an m8 but not in my price range) or a Rev 800 or other??? Help i can't decide and snow is falling. Oh yeah i'm a fairly large guy at 6'3" and 230#s. Any sugestions?

I've got a rev 800 and love the power. since your a bigger guy thats what i would go for because the m7 doesn't have as much bottom end. the m7 is a great chassis and the rev will beat you up at first but once you get used to it you'll love its ride.
oh yah and RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!

go with the rev. what ever happen with a summit 1000 151 or 162 with the recalls done they seemed to be a good bang for the buck:D for a bigger guy it should be easy to through it around:beer;

I have ridden all the new sleds out there now and still like my REV the best as far as handling goes. All the newer 8's have good power. The M7 to me seemed to really lack on the bottom but runs good if you can keep the revs up. I rode the REV 1000 yesterday for the first time and it ran great and handled ok too but not quite as quick responding as my 800.

everypne seems to be on the REV bandwagon, and yes they are good sled.

Something to give serious consideration to is a local dealer...who is good in your area. this day in age things are tight for everyone find a dealer that is good, and go buy a sled that fits your needs from him. Keep them in business. a dealer I use I called past quitting time they answered and I needed Hyfax badly. they left a set out by the back door for me, I picked them up in the morning and installed them in the parking lot, then paid them the next day. Will the internet do that ?

I know you can order from the internet but when it comes to helping you out when you need it a good dealer is like a good friend.

for 4K you can almost go get a new sled. Look around call around I know of an 08 M1000 siting at a local dealer with 2 yr warranty and a bag of tricks with 248 miles on it for $7800.

5k miles on a motor and you are ready to jump ship? :eek:

The rev is a good chassis, I dont think a M7 will be enough sled for you. I would stick with the 800 Rev as well or an IQ 800.

Might consider a King Cat as well, very easy to mod and hard to beat if set up correctly. Also there seem to be a number of them around as a lot of people are going to the M1000.

$400 for a replacement crank with trade in. Can easily get 10k miles on your engine as it is, 700's are way reliable compared to the 8's. For $4k install boost and hang on.

if you are willing to work on your sled and know whats going on. then you can easily get into an RT... there awsome. they need some small updates done, which most already have done, and for $4k you can get a IMPRESSIVE sled.

Yep! A RT1000, get it setup right, learn how to ride it and there won't be a 800 on the hill that will stay with you unless it's boosted or running nitrous(and a 1000 with those will still leave the 800's behind). Also they are a LOT cheaper then 800's (I don't know why, I will take my RT1000 for relieability over a timebomb 800 ANYDAY). And for $4000, your pushing it for getting a good rev that isn't old and miled out.

Couple suggestions

I would NOT buy a REV unless you want to buy another engine sooner rather then later! The best bang for the buck is an RT 1000 , a 1M 900 or an Apex Mnt. , I've seen some stock Apex Mnt. go for 4500.00 this sled will out last God and do fairly well stock configuration! If I went with a 2 smoke it would have to be the RT1000 or the 900 Cat, they are both solid sleds that RIP with the right rider and set up! The Apex is the top pick then Cat then RT....these being in dependability order!
Cheers.....

I had an 800 REV with over 4k miles on it. Rode it hard. I did update the pistons and rings twice in that span but I considered that cheap insurance.
