Best Skid for T. Yammy?

Just wanting your guys opinion on the Best skid for all around Mountian Riding!
Don't want to lock the Frontend to the Ground but Dont want to deal with Constant Wheel standing either! Thanks, JOP
 
We are going to try a Racers Edge rear arm setup in a 162 Nytro running 18 lbs boost. I have seen a couple in Revy this year and they seem to work great and alot of adjustability for trail/meadow/hillclimb. They also use coupler blocks for more adjustability if needed. From what I can tell they are as close to having an M-10 as you can get without laying out the cash.
 
JOP, after I got my Timbersled all dialed in and they gave me a different position to mount the skid into the drop bracket it works great. Skis will lift a little on a steep climb but not to where you can't control the sled

i agree but dont expect a m-10, because there is big diff in my eyes. Laird's with a 174 still wheelies, better than any thing else i have seen, but not as good as the m-10...
 
I was at Macs Machine last week, IMO the new Air-ride M-10 is waaaay better than the old live axle skid, the rails are way beefier under the live axle slides. The rail does not taper down for the live axle slides anymore, they are full height all the way through. Fast also has a 174 solid axle skid now. :D

I've rode with a couple of guys running Bakers 162 set up and they worked pretty well, havent seen them on real big climbs tho.

Anyone have any experience with the K mod suspension on a boosted set up ?

Looks well build and the price is right.

With the coupling blocks it should be easily adjustable.
 
I've ridden one Boosted Apex with an M 10 and the Skid did exactally what it was made to Do, keep the Frontend down. Can the M 10 be adjusted to let the skies up alittle if desired?

hit darko up and ask him about the m-10 jack. it adds some weight, but supposedly you can adjust to keep your skiis glued to the ground, or readjust and have a little bit of ski lift as you want it. about a 3 or 4 hundred dollar hit, but might be worth looking into.
 
I left mine stock and put a 174" track under it. I really like it a lot.

It will not hold the nose down like a well set up M-10 climbing suspension but it does real well and is still good as an all around suspension.

The 174" floats like crazy, I did not need to extend the tunnel so it saved me a lot of money.
 
Just switched to an M10 from Timbersled Mountain Tamer. Timbersled is better handling in the trees and for serious boondocking. I.E. The sled is allowed to lay over easier and dig in easier, but at the same time it does wheely more set up like that. It allows for more versatility in the changing conditions than an M10. BUT, that being said, My M10 gives me much more confidence while climbing and I got myself (and 3 others) into a nasty situation in the trees on Boulder the other day and got it out just fine in the scenario I was in. So I am learning how to do better on it. And when climbing, the M10 takes more pull and lean to get the sled to dig in and turn than Timbersled. It wants all of the track on the ground it can get all the time. So there are some trade offs, some really good and some not so good.Depending on what you are wanting it for.

Mine is a Fastrax setup using CR Racing rails (solid axle and tested tough), Renton Ti springs (dual rate rear) over Fox shocks, two insise wheels with a Polaris axle, and custom mounts with steel arms (ran out of $ for the billets) Good set up for the dollar and they are friendly and willing to help you out with questions.

I forgot to add I have stock front end components on my Nytro but ZBROZ X1 triple rate shocks. They are awesome in every condition. $ well spent IMO

Agreed...new rails make the deal...don't forget the centers on the new setup extend to 28" or so from 25" or so...also good...I think it was Rene's skid in Trevor's shop last week if I'm not mistaken...looked sweet.
 
personally love my timbersled...had it pre-boost and post boost...like anything takes some tuning to get it right...

I think bigbull is dead on with his review of +'s/-'s
 
This works pretty good after I bought external brackets.Climb anything you want.Might even sell it if anyones interested.
