hey guys whats the best pull the rope and go pump gasser set up out there for the 2010 m8? give me some opinions on what ur running aand whats the best, thanks

Been around a few boondocker pump gas kits this year and they have been absolutely flawless. Never touch the box or open the hood at all. Wish I had one!

thanks b1, is yours a pump gas kit? how much cash do u have into when it was all said and done?and how many miles do u have on it?

mine is the cpc race kit turned down. the race kit comes with clutching, cold air intake, and upgraded fuel system. at this time i believe the sled has around 4600 miles and last week i replaced the pistons but i did it as prevent maintainance the sled was running very well on 11 pounds on straight 91. now i run it at 9 pounds and seems to make the same power. im not here to sell you on the cpc thats just what i have and it works very well. my next one will be twisted because i have ridden with shane and his kits many times and they rip. but mostly because shane is a hell of a guy. customer service second to none from what iv seen. the race it from cpc is about 5k and the pumper is 4k

I have have been tuning a BD M8T pumpgas kit the hole evening now..And even at 6,5psi boost it was to lean to run any longer wot runs (100% dutycycle). 6,5psi was the lowest we got with a other wastgate actuator I had available. The one that came with the kit gave 10psi ????? What is wrong with this kit makers?? Ok this is a sea level, but anyway we should be able to run as low boost as the fuelsupply is able to deliver.

And I think its some sort of the same problem with the other PG kits available.

If you go for PG kit and run at lower elevation, buy a racekit and turn the boost down. Then you at least have enough fuel if you need.

Reactions: IQ?
ive heard shanes kits work great, love watching his 1200 cat in mountain mod mania, and id be riding at 8-10k feet

I'd like to see a manufacturer do some ACTUAL testing in the mountains at low elevation. They sell these kits as Pump Gas, but at 0-2500 feet their reliability is highly suspect. Its no different with any other engine mods though, none of them test in the mountains at sea level, and if they do its second hand testing, or VERY limited.

I would love to do this where and when?

Placer, Whittier, and Lost Lake. These places will get you from literally 0 feet to 5k, with lots of riding between 500 and 2500. Placer is less than an hour south of Anchorage, Whittier is about an hour, and Lost lake is about 2 hours south of Anch. I'd probably do it in Feb so you can get a chance at some low temps and dense air.

I am confident that if you decide to do this, I and many other locals would put you up for as long as you need, and take you on some of the most interesting rides of your life.

the pump gas kits are awesome at elevation. they have lots more power than a ported and piped m8, a good running one should have 55-60 mph track speed. youre not gonna climb as fast as the turbo twelves, but you can boondock all day without getting arm pump. and you dont have to worry about reeds or pistons as much. Im set on a BD setup because i like the reliability and durability of them. Boondockers have been improving their existing kits since the m7, thats going on six years. most other companies are either very young, or cant get their kits to run reliably for more than a year. And trust me, ive ridden with them all. Story,Stainger, OVS, CPC, the push runs pretty good at 17lbs, just not with the PC5.

We went to alaska four or five years ago riding, it is truly the most amazing place ive ever ridden. we had to crate our sleds and deliver them to tacoma, WA, where we put them on a Carlile Transport ship. when we flew in to Anchorage, we had a Motorhome and 4 place open trailer rented. went to the transport yard, unpacked our sleds and loaded them on the trailer. We were there for two weeks and rode around valdez for a while, then went to turnagain pass just out of anchorage, and rode with the turnagain hardcore boys for a couple days. the logistics are tough, and its expensive, but if you can do it, you definitely should.

im decidind which kit to go with either cpc twisted or boondockers? which one is the most reliable without having to mess with the box i want one to be pull and go.

how are ovs pump gas kits? if i get a turbo dakota performance will build it cuz they have built the rest of my sleds and jeff works with ovs so he knows how to put them together right,

ME TOO..

I have been tuning a BD M8 PG kit this week 0-3000ft. And it did not work at all.
Could not get the boost lower than 10psi?? And when putting a new WG and porting the WG hole we got it down to 5,5psi AF 13,2?? Needet to get the boost down to 4-5 psi to get it work?? Its cheaper to buy a M1000 then.So this kit was not working at all at this elevation.

I had to put M1000 injectors on it and lower the compression to get it work. Now it runs good with 6,5psi and AF 11,2. And it could barly hold a light modifyed M1000. And with the M1000 injectors the pump seams to lean out after 5-10min riding...But at least it worked good up to 40sec WOT, witch was the longest run we tested.

At 0-3000ft the PG kits with only stock injectors will suffer big time because of way to little fuelsupply and too high compression.

If Jeff is building the kit, ask him. He has a lot of experience and will tell you what he knows.

Totaly agree! When they sell a kit as "pump gas" they should have tested it in real time/life at sealevel also before they start selling those kit.
The sled Rydning is reffering too is my turbo 08 M8.

The BD PG kit did not work at all @ sealevel. Very disappointing when I had spent over 4500$ on the kit, and BD should have another 2000$ for uppgrading it to race spec with intercooler now + I had to send the ebc back to US for upgrade...:face-icon-small-con

But we will get it work, new pump in the tank and bigger injectors are already ordered. Going for 10psi+ on pump fuel @sealevel!!!
