Hey all,

Just wondering where the best place to stay around TOG? I hear alot of bad about TML so I want to go somewhere else, but close to there. Like within 10 miles if possible. Most important is a really nice staff. GOOD PEOPLE MAKE FUN TRIP! Any ideas? Rental and Guides are important too.

Id look into Lava Mtn lodge. We ate lunch there one day last yr and the food was good and seemed like a nice place...If they had rentals, I prolly wouldve booked there this yr instead of up at the TML.
Look into for Turpin Meadow's post, he's got a lodge just west of TML and has gotten several good reviews...

Just spent 4 great days at Tog. Breakfasts were awesome, guides were awesome, accomodations fair, dinners were awesome, Only problem is a little communication breakdown with the staff but is to be expected with new ownership. I would not hesitate to book again. Stayed in Duboise the previous week and just seemed to be too much to travel both morn and night. If priced out the value is at the lodge, just my thoughts. Have a great ride what ever way you do it.

P.S. If you stay at Tog be sure you review your bill real carefully. Take names of people talked to so you can back up your dispute if any.

Turpin Meadow Ranch

Try Turpin Meadow Ranch, Dennis and Beth were great, 8 miles buy trail from TML to the northwest, does not take long to get to the good snow.

Lava Mountain Lodge

If your looking for a friendly and clean place stay check out Lava Mountain Lodge. Its located just off the CDST trail system on the PB, no trailering necessary. They have lodge rooms, new rustic cabins (you need a sleeping bag) or they have a group cabin that sleeps 10 if you have a larger group. They have a gas station/general store that has snowmobile belts, plugs, etc and also a heated shop if you need to work on your sled. There is a restaurant/bar right at the lodge. They are only 20 miles east of Togwotee and on the same trail system so your not too far away from the powder. Also they are offering 10% off lodge rooms in January and March if you mention that you heard about them on this website. Check out their website at www.lavamountainlodge.com
