Best place to party New Years Eve and Sled??

Hi,
Wife and I have 4 day off New Years Weekend. We would like to get away, have fun partying on New Years Eve and do some sledding. Willing to drive almost anywhere. Was originally thinking Grand Lake but its kinda quiet in town last two times we stayed there. Perhaps whoop it up in Winter Park and sled surrounding areas?

Would love suggestions. I've never been to Steam Boat Springs area, is there anything to do/see there besides sled? Resort, cabin, or room in a dive hotel ok with us, where are the fun places you recommend?

No place in the mountains parties much, except maybe Aspen.


Check the event calendars for deferent places where you might want to go, and see what's going on.


Steamboat would be pretty high on my list. Hahns or Rabbit for riding, town has a few bars and some eats, plus you could go get your freak on with some nude hot springing at Strawberry. Ski slope does sleigh rides up to a restaurant on the hill for supper. Could be hard to get reservations, but it's pretty cool, live music and good food.


Love Winter Park, nice place, pretty family oriented and seems like the resort has more going on than the town.


Crested Butte should probably be in the mix. No big party, but good food, good bed, and no crowds. No I-70!


Telluride can be fun and parties a little, don't know how far to sledding though.

Steamboat springs by far! Nowhere will compare for partying and the riding is great too! I had 2 days off last weekend and went to steamboat, it was wild!

Bear lodge in the big horns is a lot of fun, great bar and New Years party lots of sleds and good,riding from your room 5 hrs north of Denver above Sheridan

No can do, something to do with a permanent restraining order against such activity for the good of the public perhaps related to a terminal case of dickey-doo disease.

Probably why they have the after dark rule!

Strawberry is still on the must do list while at there, even if you wanna cover up the six pac abs.
