Gonna order a new sled for next year. Just not sure what i want. Not much into climbing but breaking, making trails. boondocking, etc.
Always had Polaris but not brand loyal. Like the M8,like the Poo 700 and the XP. No Doo dealers here but not far away.

Whatever i get would be piped and tuned, Been leaning more towards the cat but not sure yet.

any ideas helping me decide?

thanks

I have a pretty light clutch engagement on my M8, It boondocks like a dream.

engine comes on light too, no big hits anywhere..prolly why people think its underpowered but it has the mid range torque you need in the trees.

Its nice to have such smooth control over the throttle.

sometimes I do wish it had more "fun factor" of a hard hitting tail standing Doo, but in the end I usually am deeper in the trees...specially on climbs with steps and obsticals.

I had an S chassis Doo. It was a great sled but it doesnt even come close to boondocking like my M. I think any new sled is going to be fun, but I would probaly get another M.

ran S for years ..went to Rev and would never go back to an S just don't make sense ..ergos and rider position ....boondock a lawn chair comes to mind....but we did it for years ..LOL now looking forwar to the XP

Funny about S chassis because I sure like the ZX for the trees, I centerpunched a 4" diameter one yesterday at about 20 mph with my zx, broke it off at the snowline, dang thing scratched my bumper! LOL! I kept the stump as a trophy and proof!

I feel that I can boondock anything on the IQ. My limitations are the power of my 700. Or maybe the limitations are my skills. Who knows.

sounds like you want a M sled, but i would say try one before you buy. I think cat makes one of the nicest sleds out there, i just personally cant stand them. I love my REV, and will replace it with an XP when the time comes....

good luck, these days they all seem pretty good....

been riding an 03 700rmk for years, Its good boondocker. holds up good when using trees for traction. but want something newer with a bit more power.

personally i love my new rev and my dad has a xp but i perfer the rev over it but thats just me but in my opionion the rev would be the way to go its light easy to move and side hills great
the m sleds are good but as said before they dont have the hard hitting power but the still a nice sled and there nice to side hill
the polaris's in my opionion arnt the way to go but thats me i know for a fact the dragon on a powder kilm get beat out by the skidoo for sure in my expirence

had to ride one of those a couple of years back ...kinda like gettin wisdom teeth pulled ....

just felt awkward as heck

The M8 looks like its easy to get around 20 horse more with exhaust,reeds,etc.. Thinking sno-pro with the boss seat option

if you wanna mod it, then get the M, the chassis is really easy to get used to and piped out they make great power, my buddy runs a M7 with head clutching intake and a can, has no stickers and guys thought it rocked for a M8, no M8, just 700, and the M chassis can take a hit, seen some BIG trees taken out with em.

I'm surprised so few people have mentioned the Nytro. I thought it was supposed to be excellent for boondocking, just too heavy to get the highmark (without boost).

I still ride a ZX chasis and need to upgrade soon. I have not had the opportunity to ride many other sleds so I'm very interested to hear people's opinions on this topic. The REV I rode several years ago was way more work than the ZX, however I didn't have a full day on it to get used to it. It always wanted to be on 2 skis.
