My wife got me a new 120 gig Ipod Classic for my birthday :D and my parents gave me some money along with it to start adding to my library. I know all about limewire and have it (not pro tho?)but you never really what your going to get with it. So I was thinking I-tunes, or Napster, something like that. Rhapsody wont work with an Ipod according to thier site??? SO what you guys use and suggest?

The other really cool thing I got for my birthday was my kids got me a year membership to audible.com to download audiobooks from. I am really excited about that because I listen them during my 1.5 hour one way commute every day to stay awake.

I've always used limewire.. however the ol'lady uses itunes.. and it works really well.. and simple for her ipod touch..

I dont really know if there is one that is better than the other.. pro's and con's with most of them.. If you use limewire a lot.. get a very good anti virus protection plan that updates often..

The best quality music bar none will come from a CD. Borrow as many as you can and load it up., even go to the public library, if they have good music. I use limewire, and itunes recognizes it. I do however find that the quality is not so great on some rips, and some titles are renamed and get put in different genres, titles.. etc.

thats why i use TBP...you can rip whole albums...beats trying to rename/reorganize songs all day....plus most of them are CD quality...on top of that you can download the discography of your favorite artist

+1 for bittorrent. Mininova.org and demonoid (invite only) are two other trackers I use along with TPB.

-itunes works great with their products but is expensive
-limewire is cheap but you get what you pay for
-napster is a PITA and you lose your library if you cancel your membership
-TPB is two thumbs up

The CD thing on my computer is not long to do at all. I can usually rip a full CD in under 3 minutes, even one that is in bad shape. I have been ripping all of my CD's so I have a back up to them as some of them are in bad bad shape. I figure if I have the CD, download on the comp, and the download on my Ipod, I shouldnt lose my music.

I tried TPB last might and I am impressed with the libraray for sure, now can anyone help me out with figuring out how to open the file and get them on to my Ipod?? I downloaded a torrent, WTF that is I have no idea and I am pretty dang with computers.

itunes is 99 cents a song, how the hell is that expensive?

You do realize limewire and torrents are theft right? Same as some kid stealing your bike or car.

Honestly I don't care.. Musicians get crap for there talents. If they want money, put on a concert and get the money. They make so much more from concerts, music on the internet is how you get people interested in going to concerts. IMO.

isohunt, piratebay, all good ones.

I use vuse for my torrent client and peer guardian to try and keep me safe(r).

You need to use a torrent client, as the torrent is not the file you want, but the information as to how to get the file from others doing the P2P thing..

If you're going to listen to the same few songs, no it's not. However if you have a library of a few thousand, it's on the spendy side......

File sharing has been going on before the Internet got going, it's just easier now.

8,479 songs in my itunes library X 99 cents=$8,394.21 USD or one slightly used but never abused 09 XP 163 with 1341 miles. which would you rather have?-if it is the XP, please pm me. BTW, how many CD's/DCD's in your collection were copied from someone else?

None of my CDs are copied... don't have many anymore for the matter

I only listen/buy songs I actually like, and in the last 5 years have purchased about $1 grand from itunes....

The comparison of songs vs shows is pretty obscure, everyone knows car dealerships don't make much from the sale, it's all from the service, does that make it ok to steal the car in the first place?
