Could someone tell me what size the rivets AC uses to attach the rear tunnel section are. Dealer said he had some in stock when I had ordered my parts and turned out he didn't and they are on back order tell Jan now. So I'm just gonna go to the local fastenal and get some cause most of my parts are here now and want to get started.

Done

I think that I'm going to put my skidoo can on like the way that they strap on. I had two of them set up on my turbo m7 worked great for those long days. Rodger

I never thought i would see this type of response when starting this thread, all of you have been a wealth of info and it is appreciated. This must have been the mod of the summer. Heres my offering finally went with the BDX kit, took a little grinding and filing to get just right, but all in all smooth build.

The only issue I have is that it seems weird that the flap has to rest on the cooler, and does alot of rattling as a result, have not been out yet so dont know if it will be a issue, i know that it could be fied by just buying differant parts, however would like to know if this has become a issue for anyone first.

Here are some pics of the bumber I fabed up. It saved about 3 1/2 lbs. I also made one similar for by buddies ski-doo.

does bdx have a kit that includes the rear tunnel piece for a 162? I am switching from a 153. Your kit looks good and it would be great to get all the parts at one place.

Kerry,

There was one post, somewhere, that mentioned cracking problems straightening the '05-'06 coolers, but not so much the later ones? Waiting for more info, or an '09 cooler, or at least summer before I risk taking my sled down for awhile.

rear conversion

thanks john,
but i think i'm gonna roll the dice, and try to straighten or partially straighten.if i can get it up and forward more than what it is it may work or just be better than what it is.
i guess the worse case scenario i replace the cooler.i will keep you posted more to come....

Hey mtncat800, did you have to relocate your cooler? Did you use the end cap from the 09?

I left the cooler stock and utilized the 09' cap, flap, and L.E.D. tail light. I know there has been some discussion on the coolers but the way I looked at it was, I did not change any of the geometry between the rear skid and the cooler. The measurements are still the same. I did make my bumper a bit longer however, if you take a straight edge from the rear skid to the bumper, I actually have more room with the BDX kit. I may be way off base but it didn't look like it was going to be an issue, and I figured if I was going to do something to get into the cooler it would happen either way and I was probably going to have bigger problems than just the cooler.

My 2 cents.
