Best Helmet?

Arai helmets are the best. They are the Ferrari of helmets. One of the lightest helmets on the market and the most comfortable. You pay for what you get. If you want 100.00 protection then buy a hundred dollar helmet. I have had multiple concussions. Money shouldnt be an object when protecting your head. Arai is my choice. I have also had Shoei helmets which are great as well, just not quite as comfortable. good luck.

Totally agree. I've had fly, one ind., and now a fox. If your looking for really hi end, yes go with an arai or shoei. My fox was $375 new and I like it alot...liked my others too tho so I think it's really just what your preference is. Go find some different dealers and try em on, then go with what you feel.

I used to ride street bikes (gixxer 750 etc..) and always rode w an Arai lid
yep they are super expensive, but beleive they are the best

Couldnt fit a style i liked in a moto-x helmet, so I bought the next best thing - Suomy
Another italian brand lid and super light
its perfect for up in the hills, as it breathes awesome - little cold for here, but still not terrible

Mine is the Suomy Spectre Black Diamond
brand new on ebay for $200 - Retail is well over $600, selling on ebay for about $375 or so

heres a few pics and coupled up w my new 509 Sinisters, they fit it spectacular

suomy is a great helmet, had one when i was running my cbr 600rr. i just picked up a bell moto 8 from motorcycle closeouts. you can buy a snow kit for them as well.

Klim for the snow. I do believe Arai is the best as that is what I wear on the track on sportbikes. I just didn't like the way their dirt helmet fit me so I went with the KLIM. Bang for the buck I believe is the Fly carbon.

Love my Shoei. Its been a great helmet. Got it in 1997 and still looks darn near new, except the first time I set it on the seat while running. Of course it vibrated off and put a niche in the paint when it hit the sharp boot grips on the boards. Talk about P/O! Spent $500 it is Troy Lee Designs. Boy that still upsets me that I did that.

i got the 509 gloss black, it matches my suit..... but the bigget reasoning is that tom claimed it fit with the 509 goggles perfectly......and it DOES.

i dont care that its not carbon fiber...its light, looks good, fits good, but the biggest seller is the wind protection, it can be the lightest helmet in the world but if my face is freezing im not going to be happy.........the wind protection is unreal

i ride with a HJC carbon helmet on my GSXR 750 and love it, i also wear a HJC helemt for dirtbiking which i use for sledding also. I really like the way the HIC's fit, and are light.

I have an Arai, HJC, Klim, TLD, & a Skidoo helmet. Troy Lee is the most comfy for me. I love that helmet, and will be buying another one in the next year or so. It's like slipping a pillow over your head when you put it on.

I do like the Klim also, because of all the venting.

Yep, best helmet made, and you can tell as soon as you put it on, I have about 4 of them, great helmet.

I have the new FLY RACING F2 Carbon coming! I checked them out at the WPS dealer meetings and super sweet. They are fresh from DOT and SNELL inspection and super cool kevlar/carbon fiber combo. Very reasonable at about $259ish for this kind of technology and feel. Replacing my Oneil 906 which was cool and a good lid but one of the most uncomfortable liners going.

Red/black combo to match my buggy! Kind of fired up about it.
Interesting. I might have to check that out. I am currently looking for a new Helmet. My current one has a broken visor and mouth guard, along with some other nicks, dings and missing paint!

That helmet looks great but my concern is fit and how it can protect me. Safety is first. With that I also think you can get a good helmet without spending $500. I would rather spend half that and replace it every 2-3 years.

I have also been eying Troy Lee Designs. I need to go try them on. I like the lifetime mouthguard and visor deal.

After much debate, I had almost talked myself into the Arai except I couldn't find one to try on.

So off to the Spokane snow show I went with hopes of trying on one of everything and low and behold I stumbled across a brand new HJC AC-X3 carbon fiber for $149.....

Needless to say I'll be sporting the carbon fiber HJC this year :)
