Oakley Splice or Crowbar w/polarized lens. Hi Amber on overcast cloudly, grey on sunny days. Wouldn't mind checking out the polarized fire, the polarized ambers are however the best lens I've had in any goggle.
Smith Sweat x for me. One thing I learned after riding in good snow in the Snowy Range last year was to sacrifice a little comfort and I took my balaclava off. I would get too warm and start sweating and there it would be growing in the corner of the lens....fog. I also think I couldn't seal the goggle to my face well enough with the balaclava that I had on. It was a cheap one though.
I've been wearing 509 Sinisters since they came out and in my opinion are the best goggles on the market. No fogging at all when you're moving, and if you're just sitting there or getting unstuck, breath down.. it's as simple as that. Had a chance to try the aviators as well and those goggles ROCK! Had no fogging issues at all, even when getting my self unstuck. The peripheral vision is great, I forgot I was wearing them most of the day.
I've tried many different types of goggles and found some are better than others but they all seem to fog up eventually, except for one set I've found by recon instruments. I also carry three sets with me
1) recon instruments goggles by zeal optics
2) 509 polarized aviators
3) 509 polarized sinisters
I agree that the 509's are absolutely great goggles but they don't come anywhere close to the recons with the polarized and transcending lenses. I could wear these things in a sauna and they wouldn't fog up
Oakley Crowbar's for me in Polarized lense....$200 but worth it. I love the true definition of the lenses that pull out valleys and drop offs. No matter what go with polarized lenses.
I had so many issues with my old smiths last year, i had to keep three sets of goggles on me just to get two of them de-fogging. i now switched to 509 aviators and love them! throw the nose piece on and you shouldnt have any problems. i think i might get a set of black ops just in case they do fog up or for very bright days.
The best optics in the market place are currently either manufactured in Germany or Japan, after that it is all in what features or style you value most. All googles have good points and bad points.
We carry the Habervision, UVEX and Zeal lines for this reason.
I have 1 set of spys with 2 lenses. Is it bad for the lenses to switch the lenses daily?
And I wear a breath deflector with it to prevent fogging(and it does so very well), but does anyone else thing its a lot harder to breath with it in if your not moving?
But anyway I love my spy zeds and they came with a s1 and an s3 lense so for 90$ I really dont need anything else
