Best Goggles on the market

I'm looking to buy new goggles, just wondering what you guys are wearing and how you like them. looking for no fog great looking goggles. thanks fellas

I have the original 509's I don't remember which ones, but they are nice. They don't have the noseguard so they are only a warm weather goggle for me.

Last year I bought the Scott 89xi goggles with a noseguard and they work great.

I have trouble with fogging up when riding while it is snowing with both goggles. I am probably a bad person for an opinion on fogging though, I tend to fog up every type of goggle I try.

I would like to try the 509's with the polarized lens next, but I am too cheap to spend 100 bucks on a pair of goggles.

Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas

Jim

the best way to avoid fogging is probably wearing the breath deflector that snaps into the cheek pads and covers your nose to deflect your breath down. I don't usually wear it cause it's hot. Have the 509's with the polarized lens, they fog, have the scotts, for less money I'ld buy scotts again, but they fog too. Not sure if a fog cloth helps much, too busy having fun to take time to wipe the goggles.

i use the 509's with the deflector in place. not an issue with it. as far as the price goes, you get what you pay for so spend the money and enjoy the clear view all day. i am a large guy so foggy was an problem until i bought the 509's

509. bought them because they come with a 100% waranty. fogging comes from getting too sweatty from getting stuck and having to dig out, any goggle will have this problem. getting sweatty while riding they tend to not fog as long as you have air moving through them.

Ranking

Ok in my pack i carry 3 sets of goggles each with different color lens

#1.509 black ops with polorized smoke lens
#2.Okley o-frams w-amber lens
#3.Scott XI with blue lens

the 509 are my fav cause i do not have to use my breath defelector

The O-frames are a close second and are #1 when snowboarding

The Scotts XI are good goggles but for me they pinch my nose shut cause of the oversized foam and i endup breathing out of my mouth

had same problem , what i did was cut the clothe at the bottom of the breathe deflector to allow when i exhale air to go out easier.
i just used a sciccors to cut the cloth

Whats a sciccors?

Been wearing Oakley's and Scott's since the mid 90's. If I get stuck first thing I do is pop off my goggles to keep from breathing in them. When one pair ice up, I swap out.

Lots of new fangled goggles on the market, but IMHO Oakley is the best followed by Scott for the conditions I ride in.

509's are awesome until you build up a sweat and stop or get stuck. if you're moving i've never had them fog up on me. awesome goggles! the nose piece allows you to not need a breath box as long as you wear a balaclava.

X2 on Oakley's
The Oakley Splice is the best out there.:face-icon-small-coo

Scott 89 and SPY have worked good for me. Tried smith a few time but there lenses dont seem as durable as the other brands. I have a hard time breathing thru my nose so when I get stuck and start diggging my self out I fog up my goggles quick but if I use my quick strap Scott 89's and put the goggles on top helmet I never have too much of a problem.

IF you have fogging issues, using an Eliminator is a must. Habervision's Eliminator has a built in humidity sensor. When humidity levels go up, the fan turns itself on automatically. Once the levels drop down to normal/acceptable levels it turns itself off to save battery life.

What makes them really nice is when you stop or when someone gets stuck. This is when the fan will turn on. It is nice to leave the goggles on your face where they belong. Without a fan most people are pulling their goggles off, putting them under their hood, in their jackets, etc. The fan allows you to ride and forget about messing with your gear.

For lenses I like the optic orange lenses but the Vermillion we offer with no lenses flash is a great all around lenses as well.

Contact me if you have any other questions. I can give you some good hints if you have major fogging issues (consider how you are dressing).

I wear an Arai Vxpro3 and the Oakley a-frames fit it and my cheek bones just right. When trying on goggles, be sure to bring your helmet with you... My Oakley Snocross Crowbars fit my Answer M8 helmet well, but don't fit the Arai very well at all.

Fogging? stop taking your helmet off.
