I have ridden quite a few areas but thought I might want to try out some others. Opinions please what are the best riding areas within 4 hours driving of Colorado Springs? Please leave out Vail Pass, Grand Lake, And Cottonwood as I think everybody with a sled has been to those :p

Thanks Mule, I go often to VP but have never tried Vail North. Thats a good one to add to the list. Any others?

These are a stretch but you can probably make them in 4 hours. Try Wolfcreek. They have arguably the best snow in the state, followed by rabbit ears. Irwin would be a good area to try, along with Chama when they get some snow. You can also make Snowy Mountain Range inside of 4 hours.

what he said - Rabbit Ears, Snowies and Wolf Creek. All are great riding and about the same distance depending on what part of the Springs you live in.

Edit: BTW the picture in my avatar is from Wolf Creek. :):beer;

Wolf Creek is the best hands down. Everybody from Denver goes north traffic sucks, all the skiers, parkinglots full, etc. Also Ophir Creek is ok for a quick trip when they have snow.

Wolf Creek and Ophir in the same reccomendation.....:eek:

go to coloradosledcity.com and hit a different trailhead everyweekend till you find what you like best.

Was talking to a guy earlier who said he could get to Chama in 3hrs 15min?
Sounds optimistic when it takes me over 4hrs to Wolf Creek pass. Is there a faster way?
