Best aftermarket throttle block for the 2013 pro??

Forgive my ignorance on the 2011 and newer wiring and such, but did that portion change from the CFI-4 generation? Reason being is I no longer have the OEM kill switch or throttle block on my 09. The instructions I got with the throttle block from RSI had me cut the grey wire to remove the TSS feature from my sled. If Poo changed it in 2011, then this obviously won't work.

My sled runs perfectly fine with the TSS completely removed and the wire cut.

They are different. I didn't have any problems doing what you did on my dragon, but i had to get creative on my PRO when I tried the same thing. I had a thread on it way back when, but I haven't done a search for it yet to see what I came up with. Its gotta be just tapeing closed as said earlier, but I'm positive you can't just cut it or get rid of it all together on the pros.

Because I have respect for DHP, CRF118R & jhurkot... I checked the sleds again and I'm going to have to make some dinner for myself.

I was not thorough in my testing and did not depress the switch well enough...

I unplugged the switch and plugged in a taped closed switch from the parts box...VIOLA ... it works.

Then I did more digging

The 2011 and 2012 TSS have the same resistance in the open position. On the 2013, the open resistance is different.

BUT... Same resistance with the switch in the closed position on 2011/12/13.

2011/12
6790 Ohms = RUN (flipper open, switch open)

2148 Ohms = Shutdown above idle (flipper closed, switch closed and TPS above idle)

2013
6790 Ohms = RUN (flipper open, switch open)

4640 Ohms = Shutdown above idle (flipper closed, switch closed and TPS above idle)

HMMM... Gotta love this forum... some sharp cookies on here!

Thanks for the Heads-Up!

All this being said....

I believe strongly that defeating this VERY IMPORTANT safety feature, a fully functioning Throttle Safety Switch, is not a good idea.

Even with a Tether switch, this device could save your life or the life of another.

Plain and simple, don't bypass this major safety device.

With this new narrower block, all of my problems have been solved. I won't be messing with mine AND I'm running a tether. Only had 1 close call on my 11, but that was enough to convince me that they are very necessary.
