Best A-arms?

the new zbros are not as strong as the old ones. i have a set of the old ones and i have hit a ton of stuff and not had any issues. The alt impact look pretty good but i am not a fan of the shape i like rounded things. thats just my feeling im sure it has nothing to do with strength or any of that just personal preference.
Thanks for the feed back. A rounded upper is a better look. Several reasons i dont bend them. All revolve around strength. They would no doubt be easier to build rounding them. Make the bend, and almost half the welding. First reason i dont like to bend is that thins the tube on the outside of the rad. On thin wall tube, its a big deal. Second reason is that when you start stretching an alloyed tube it can change the integrity. With a higher tensile strength of anything, also comes a more brittle material. A wider spread on the uppers also make them stronger, as well as allows for the piggy back shock resis. clearance that other will not. I could go on, but you get the big picture. Not going to say i dont Moly or Ti tube, but if i can avoid it, i do for mainly those two reasons. Thanks!

Dan

Have run alt. impact ti. arms on several sleds including the Pro. They always fit good and the weight loss claims accurate.
Most lightweight stuff is not as tree-resistant as stock but sometimes that's a good thing.
Just keep David in the open parks. I dont mind guys breaking the stockers, but i hate it when mine break. LOL

No i didnt mean my comment about the strength of the arms. its my personal choice. it came off wrong. they are nice arms. Might even be my next set if my zbroz fail.

LOL Its all good. I knew what you meant. You prefer the look of the rounded upper arm. I totally agree. I just threw in my 02 on why i diddnt build them that way. Hey i encourage feed back. Good or bad. Thanks!
Dan

I was in the same boat, toasted both lower arms in low speed impact.

I just got a set of the new style Zbroz arms. I called and talked with them for 15+ minutes and was very impressed. I had alot of concerns about the "old" deisgns folding up around the ball joint. The new ones are plated top and bottom, they look VERY stout. The high clearance this is a huge plus too. I can post some pics of the plating if anyone is interested.

Will the z-broz arms work on the 13s since polaris changed the a arms or is there a new model coming for the 13 pros?

I run the new updated set of Zbroz narrow. I bent a lower near the end of last season. Only twisted at the end ball joint / spindle connection. I tagged a rock under 12" of pow sidehilling. Hit pretty hard.

Are you one of those customers that are unhappy about everything?

Silber Turbos, Zbroz...What other companies should people stay away from?

Zbroz has been a great company to deal with. They did have a problem and stepped up to the plate and took care of every customer we had. What more do you expect from a Company?

Do you happen to sell both, It would makes sense if you did. It seems you are constantly making excuses for both of them, so it must just be me.

FWIW, the Holz units are top notch and haven't been know to spontaneously break while riding down trails.

No excuses. If a company has a problem and corrects it what more do you want. I hope your boss doesnt hold you to the same standard that you hold vendors.

We all make mistakes. Its how you deal with them that seperates the men from the boys.

What more do I want.. In both Silber and Zbroz case, I don't want their lack of preparation and testing to impact my limited number of riding days. I have had good experience with both Aerochager and Holtz (on their first try) so I will try and save the next guy the headache and excuses.

When I shop for a product I want to know that it has been engineered and tested thoroughly BEFORE it hits the market, to be frank I would rather find another vendor than deal with one who can't it right the first time around. Might seem like high expectations, but I bet you wouldn't be as forgiving if your paycheck didn't depend on their success.

FWIW, with Zbroz in particular the set of A-arms I received contacted the shocks through the travel of the suspension. I contacted them to make them aware of the issue, was called an idiot/liar until they found out I wasn't the only one having issues. Turns out someone didn't know how to operate a tape measure and the lack of QC failed them at several points.

Fast forward one year and the A-arms were totally redesigned, only this time they were designed to suffer massive failures under normal riding conditions. Yes both issues were resolved, but if you were one of the guys who had an arm fail and then had to wait for them to come off backorder, buy another set or tow a sled out of the woods then it didn't matter how it was resolved.

I run Alt Impact too. I have had great luck with them and Dan is a great guy to work with, the turn around on them was incredibly fast and he even had mine done in a custom color he didn't stock.
They have held up to some serious abuse too. In the 4 months I ran them they have seen 100+ foot drops, 200+ foot jumps a few times, spring rocks, trees, and god knows what else! I would recommend them to anyone. :face-icon-small-coo

I've had nothing but great experiences with my Timbersled fronts... in both the wide (dragon) and narrow (PRO) RMK...

All of the brands mentioned above have great quality products, Z broz had a small problem last year that they took care of for their customers.... this can happen to any maker.

IMO...The aftermarket arms represent a better value when you are replacing them... And they are stronger, which does not seem to be a problem on the PRO... some critics say that they would rather have a sacrificial arm to protect the bulkhead... this does not seem to be a problem on the PRO... I've seen busted bulkheads from just the right hit with the stocker and aftermarket arms... but I've NOT seen many busted bulkheads myself or in the myriad emails/pm's that I've received from PRO owners.

Ive always liked timbersled but with them being double the cost of all the others im really leaning towards alternative impact.
