Bent tunnel/rear suspension brackets

Polaris did it again, solid chassis design with a minor flaw that leads to chassis failure. This is the Achilles tendon of a sweet sled. They relief cut the inner plate in the highest stressed spot on it. It's also only .080 aluminum sheet as well.

Holy cow man, what did you hit?

I wish we knew... after the second set of plugs we noticed the drop bracket needed reriviting. upon closer inspection the next morning while setting it up to rivit we noticed the bend and the crack. turned a trip north to a return home 3 days early... the worst, the sled had 24 miles on it

Here is a free part you can use to reinforce this area!

Take the attached PDF and the DXF file (download from my site below)
to any shop with a laser and they can easily, and affordably, cut you up 2 of these, 1 for each side.

Click to my site to download, feel free to look around while you're there too :face-icon-small-coo

Of course you guys post up a nice quality solution after I'm already done with a fix!

Not pretty by any means, but it should work. I'm no fabricator. I think I used enough rivets :face-icon-small-ton

just got back from Alpine, tore one side of my tunnel behine running boards i was picking threw the trees not sure when it happend but a freind seen it later at the botton. the sled just kept climbing! so why stop? fixed it later

Stainless steel is the only way to go for brackets ! The increased weight is worth it.
