Bent rev

I am new to these forums so let me introduce myself first.

My names Garret,I have been sledding since i was 5 and will never quit.I am from Whitecourt,Alberta born and raised.

I recently puchased a 06 mx7 800 off a friend and made a sweat deal on it because it was in an accident.I fixed all of the parts that were broken on it and recently took it for a couple of rides and managed to hit a bunch of railroad ties buried under the snow while i was turning. Now the upper control arm on it slightly touches the spring on the coil on the rear part of the control arm.(I was fully turned when i hit it and it seems as if it bent forward istead of backwards) Because of this my ski is also toed in slightly also.

I have looked at all of the suspension components and none of them seem to be bent,so my question is...Is there any way i can shim the A arm to put it back in place so it doesnt rub on the coils? Or is the frame mount point for the arm able to be adjusted?

Any help is much appreciated,I really want to go out and wreck some more s@#t!

I hope to meet some of you guys and look forward to some good discussion.
Also if anyone is from the whitecourt area pm me and we can hit the trails sometime:P

Cheers!

Cooke city is for men and tog is for flatlanders.

Once something like an A-arm is bent it needs to be thrown away. There is no straitening it unless you know how to weld and even then its iffy.

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out what is bent. Simply take measurements and compare them from side to side.

You have what us Ski-doo riders call a bent NUN. The NUN is the subframe that the A-arm attach to. You most likely bent the front plate too.

Go over to http://www.dootalk.com and go to the forums and search on BENT NUNS and you will get all the info you could ever want.

This is a normal thing for the REV chassis.

Hope this helps,

Dana

Yep I just replaced the one in my sled.

HAVE FUN!

And buy a bunch of drill bits.

And put it back together with stainless steel bolts with stainless steel nyloc nuts. It makes it easier the next time you have to replace it.

I took me a month to do mine, but I would only work on it for a little while a night.

Buy a nun for a 2007 MXZX 440, it is the best one you can get. There are a couple of dootalk guys that make custom ones that are really nice, but I didn't know about those until after I bought one.

yeah, probably a NUN, they will give before A-arms do. I SNAPPED my nun, just had it rewelded, im pretty impressed how mine held of for all the crap i plow over. but yeah, het the 440 ones, as they have all the bracing for racing, weights like 2 more pounds and will last a LOT longer hitting stuff.

From one garrett to another, here's what i did. (Except your a one T garrett)

I had this really long, strong, big steel bar in my garage, so i took it and wedged it in line with spindle. The end of the bar was wedged behind the lower A arm connection and I levered it against the to of the spindle. After some serious reefing i managed to get the whole deal back to normal.

But then again mine wasnt quite so bent. Good luck

Pay attention to the bolded parts.

It's not an overly tough job with the right tools and a little patience.
