Bend Fork fix

Just got my parts and installed them New pedestal and clamps with a spacer to keep this area from bending the Fork tubes .

I did drill out the Pedestal brace so if something gives it will be the pedestal and not the fork-tubes.

Over a grand in parts for the fix:scared: hopefully next time it will just be the pedestal that is only $200:nod:

I would have suggested cutting the bolts halfway through so they break first, then at least you can still swap bolts and ride out. Of course don't forget to wire everything so all the parts stay with the bike.

You are such a nice understanding fellow

The earlier spindles did not have the Back brace in them and never did bend any forks -- it is only since that brace was incorporated because pedestals got bend and customers had issues with that weakness. So TS beefed them up with that brace -- now all of a sudden some lower fork legs get damaged.

I have been around that fix a weak link until something else gives before.

Pick your poison:juggle:

I for one rather take a hammer to the pedestal instead of changing lower fork tubes. The whole point is to allow the easiest and cheapest part to deform so you can ride out or Just straighten it and keep going.

To each there own you don't have to do this -- just putting it out there to give you something to think about -- obviously it partially worked .:cheer2:
