Belt Wear Question

Is it OK to swap rotation of belt?
I noticed a 1/2" long tread on the inside of the belt showing. So I cut and installed belt so I could see the gap of missing tread (Swapping rotation).
Maybe it would be a good idea to rotate belt every so often!
Any thoughs????

I beleive belts are only designed to operate in one direction
with the writing so you can read it

From my IQ service manual:

Drive Belt Installation - Team Driven Clutch
1. With the L wrench inserted into the threaded into hole and
the sheaves in the open position, install the drive belt.
NOTE: Install belt so that the numbers can be read
correctly on the left side of the machine or in the
direction in which the belt was originally installed.

I should read the manual!!
I wonder if that is so you allways have it running the same direction once installed. I can't see how it would make a difference on a new belt. If there where one direction only maybe a directional arrow would be handly.

I put a new top end in and may have installed it backwards after that.
Shoot thats 1 1/2 arms to replace the belt:face-icon-small-con
