Belt life on Boosted Nytro

Try going to a Red/White Cat secondary versus the green. I think it is too much spring or not enough weight on the secondary. We are seeing AWESOME belt life. I have 500 on mine right now with the original belt. I am sure you checked alignment and deflection.

What he said,I think its from too much spring in your secondary, I've been there with my RX1.

Nytros with boost eat belts in deep snow and long pulls:eek:

A Apex has 4 cylinders at 11000 rpm spread and then a gearbox to almost completely eliminate power-pulses:cool:

The Nytro makes more Torque at 8500 rpm on a 3 cylinder engine no gear reduction--- the power-pulses are higher than on a 225 hp 2 cylinder 2 stroke.
That said they are still better than bone stock doos.

You cant have it all just simple facts of Physics.

if your clutching is right you will not eat belts, 900 hard boosted miles and belt is as good as new, its all in the clutching and gearing.

Can you explain what you mean by weight on the sec????

1450km, first belt is my spare, running second belt. First one looked to be heat cracking at 200km, tightened secondary, no issues since. Went through 9 belts on last years 07 XRS at $70 extra/belt, least they warrantied them till I could sell it and bring home my Yami

OK, so the Yamaha belt is very confusing.......at first it lookede like it would fly apart and delaminate after the first day on boost, string hanging out etc. Ran it another day checking it through the day, and then another, and then another. Now it looks like a well broke in belt???? WTF? No problems so I guess I will shut my mouth. Love the way it runs so I guess it will stay the same on set up.
