Hey!
The last couple of years have been a hard for me to be present here. I joined SW in 1998, so I guess I've got a few miles on this forum. I've seen a lot come and go and I've observed a lot of changes to this forum.
A while back, I made a job change, but not a career change. It's rigorous and I've been working a solid 60 hours a week. I have not had much time to put into the forum.
I'm still working in public education, as a school district leader, but work took me a long way from home, to a new school district. I rented a place and made it work. I commuted 600 miles round trip each week and put 30,000 miles on my truck last year.
Fortunately, I was able to take a position in my home area for this current school year. It was a great move and a fantastic school. I always knew that I missed having dinner with my family every night, but you don't know how much you appreciate it until you don't get to.
Sleeping in your own bed! Can't beat that. It sure beats turning out the light 300 miles away from home and wondering how your family feels about it.
This past Fall, I had to take on an extra duty two months in the school year, which ramped up my hours again. I average 11 to 12 hour work days.
Anyway, I think I'll get to hire someone and fill that position I've been covering. I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully I can have more of a presence on the forum, if you'll have me back.
Hopefully I have served you well as a moderator, since 2009. I'll have to prove myself and make my way back up through the ranks to regain my previous moderator status.
Scott
