We always stay just down the road from Bear at Elk View Inn, for riding you aint going to find to super extreme stuff but will find some good stuff to challenge, I have never rode revy so I can't really compare but just expect some nice pulls and deep meadows with some really sweet tree banging, if you want extreme head a few hours west and check out Cooke City, I personally think the Horns pretty mild compared to Cooke.... IMO Big Horns though have it all and is a awesome place allaround.

Is this a busy place, how far ahead should we be booking rooms ,and what are rooms worth ,any idea what the elevation is, I heard the resort is up the mountain, do they have gas up there,I run race/premium?

1. Busy on the weekends and holidays.
2. 2-3 months if its during a busy time,
3.7000-9500 average, bear lodge and elk view are at 8200, I think arrowhead is 7800?
4. rooms are usually 140-200.
5. resort is located in the middle of the range on the northern part. You mostly ride west or south of there.
6. 91 at the lodges, no race up top

The elevation is a little over 9000 feet.
Yes they do have fuel at the Elk View and Bear Lodge. Probably better plan on bringing your own race fuel with you.
They are both owned and operated by the same company. The Bear has a livelier nightlife than the Elk.

They do have some fun riding areas, with boondocking and tree riding. If you are coming from Revy, I think you will be a bit disappointed tho.

I didnt see any huge climbs or really challenging hills when I have been there.
It was fun riding but not what I'm used to in Island Park.

I would go to the BigHorns for boondocking, Cooke if you want chutes.

After Christmas? That might be a little early for reliable snow.

Well we will have to play it by ear,and keep an update on the snow conditions, the elevation is good that's what were set up for and usually ride at,
It's not any further for us to drive to Wyoming than fernie Bc their both (9hrs) and revy is 12hrs

The bighorns are more rolling hills than anything, lots of open meadows and some hills with trees on them. There isnt much for chutes or whatnot, but its still a good time. Bear is a good place to stay and they have fuel... After christmas there should be plenty of snow for good riding, there will prolly be enough to ride in november if we keep getting some good storms.

How much snow is there now,I did see a little bit that the web cam was showing at bears lodge,

13 Inches at Bone Springs which is close to Bear Lodge and they are expected to get up to a foot this week!!!

Bear lodge is about a mile from the burgess junction sno tel site and it reads 5" right now so not much but its getting to be that time I personally havent been up there in a while but just what im hearing from friends, might make a drive up there this week after this storm rolls through... Anyone know when they closed 14A last year?

They closed 14A sometime around December first. Elk season up there runs through the month of November again this year.
