BDX Pro Lite rear bumper kit?

any one out there tried this tunnel kit? is it sturdy? is there a better one to go with? love the idea of shedding more weight but wary of the stability.

Do a search on this, there are several threads about that bumper kit. It has had a couple issues, they have been resolved by BDX but you might want to decide for yourself if the fixes that have been provided are what you want to run on your sled. I'll say that I have one and I like it, but when I build another sled I will go a different direction with the rear bumper. VE makes a nice one and the conversion to the 09 cat bumper is pretty reasonably priced as well.

The VE Appears to be a better build- but for the cost conservitavate- the BDX is the way to go.
They have had their issues- ( I have the 3rd kit sold) and have installed many on sleds... they have the up date kit down pat- so there is no Issues, they have come along way from the 1st build..and stay fairly reasonable with their pricing.

this kit is junk, got one in the shop on a 07 1000.....needs some extra support, total POS in its original format

Got a VE rear half on the way....

Had the BDX bumper on my sled and over the summer I changed it out to the 09 style bumper. It will be a lot stronger now but I never had any issuse with the BDX

VE all the way.

Never seen an issue on all the bdx bumpers that we ride with (that were properly installed)
My wife's sled flipped & landed right on the bumper, not a single problem.

I've seen a lot of these that people did themselves that are very weak, but if you keep in mind the strength issue when you install it I don't see you having any problems, also the update was a good fix.

I like the VE or the stock 2009 updated pieces. The BDX has come a long way, but I have seen way too many installed a bit incorrect and the structural rigidity is sacrificed.......they bend.

if you know what your doing the bdx kit is by far the best bang for the buck, if you like to be able to say i installed it in 10 minutes i guess the ve bumper is for you:) have had mine on for 2 seasons and not a problem, the updates imo fixed any issues. love bdx's stuff, top quality and they don't make you pay a mint...

can you say priceless???

I run the BDX on mine as well, I have all the updates for it sitting on my bench but I have yet to put them on as I have not had the need to.

BDX makes the tunnle look aftermarket and it works.

add the no-sno running board inserts and you've got the perfect set-up. love not having to EVER worry about snow on my running boards. its the favorite thing i love about my sled...

i think the 10 minute reference is that if you take 10 minutes on the bdx and do a sloppy job then there is issues...so if you ain;t going to take the time on the bdx then don;t get it...then the ve is the bumper to get because it probably has a more idiot proof install with inheirant strength..

Damn either kit looks very nice. I would like to smack the engineer who thought that a plastic bumper would ever be a good idea. I know that they wanna save weight anywhere they can, but seriously don't skimp on the **** that needs to be solid.

m8magican, exactly. if you hurry through the install, which is pretty detailed with the angles you have to cut, then you will run into problems. you have to be very exact on your cuts, especially if you want a clean look. my buddie runs the ve and he is always commenting on how little time it took him to install his versus the hours i spent to install mine. i just remind him who paid more...
