BD e-key.... is it worth it?

what is the motor octane rating on 100ll i was told its like 105 but i figured it was 100 hense 100ll I have been running 50/50blend pump/av on 9lbs boost w e key ad no issues yet :face-icon-small-sho

I believe its 103. And alot of 110 race is 106.
Sorry I fat fingered the bad rep on my phone.

There are some good threads on av gas. Do a search and you'll get a lot. I believe it's called av gas in 2 stroke turbos.

So what were thinking is the e key allows you to keep the response of av gas but the boost of race?

100LL AV is "Aviation Fuel"

100LL is not 100 octane as we rate it for pump gas (R+M/2). It is actually ~96 octane by that measure

It has to be more consistant for aircrafts obviously.

Av gas is not a more responsive fuel than 110
Sorry bout that. I know better and wasn't thinking. That was fairly poorly worded.

I was meaning more of you get higher octane boost levels with higher boost performance (extra boost outweighs timing changes) out of a lower octane fuel?

100% 100ll, 11 pounds, 4500-9000 feet ZERO issues.

If you run VP C16 you will blow the crank out the bottom before the det light goes off lmao :face-icon-small-coo

I was running 9-10lbs @10k on about 60% 100ll and 40% 91 with timing key with no issues last year. Pistons looked great a few weeks ago when I checked. Klotz 40 to 1

Av gas has a very slow burn rate so it actually chemically retards the timing some. This makes it a great choice for turbos.
As far as the bd timing key I used to hit deto once/twice aday without. With it I havent hit det in two seasons.
