BCS Sucks!!! College rankings a joke!!!

You better become the biggest Mizzou fan ever! Personally i think the big 12 is a joke for having a tie breaker rule involving the BCS rankings.

I do not want to see a Boise state utah match up in the fiesta. Though i would take that over seeing Ohio State get in (for those of you who know me, i a bigger Ohio State fan than Utah fan...)
I want to see Utah and Boise go head to head with Bama/Texas. I bet you at least one mid-major stays undefeated and it will make the BCS shut its pie hole again. But they will take the safe approach and make Utah play BSU if BSU gets the nod over OSU. That way no BCS school is in danger of losing to a mid-major and the mid-majors dont prove a damn thing... :mad:

I hope and pray that Missouri and Florida win just to throw a monkey wrench in this whole deal. Missouri hasn't got much of a chance but I think Florida could easily beat Alabama

I woudn't count on it, ohio state is the BCS's favorite team... just wish coach would lose some of his pride and hire a offensive cordinator that isn't so darn conservative.

I would like to see BAMA get the other at large bid after they lose to florida:D, but they will probably drop off the map if they lose

Nothing, except it doesnt prove to the world that BSU and Utah can play with the big boys. Hawaii really hurt mid majors last year. BSU and Utah are good teams that could win those games. While i would love to see them play each other, it would be most beneficial to have them play AND WIN BCS conference teams.

Could you imagine two mid majors winning in the BCS in the same year... but its just a dream as the B$C will chase the money and exclude BSU.

Utah better represent!!!
 
I think missouri has a chance. Oklahoma doesn't play great defense and missouri can light up a score board. And remember BIG GAME BOB (stoops) has been struggling the last few years in the bowl games.

Texas has an indentical record, also with huge victories this year ....

with the MOST IMPORTANT ONE BEING OVER OKLAHOMA.

The Big 12 and the BCS is a joke, this is not good for college football and anyone who thinks so is dead wrong.
 
Big 12 Commisioner stated yesterday the BCS rankings will no longer be in their rulebook as of the start of next season.. Kind of addmitting they screwed up?? Also sounds like Percy is gonna play saturday boys.. sorry if your a bama fan..

Couple more verbal commits came in today..

Congrats to you Phatty as Ohio State got a verbal from probably the number 2 or 3 runningback in the country. Jaamal Berry, watched 2 of his games on ESPN U. The kids a freak, and unfortunatly he was leaning to Florida as of a couple weeks ago..

Florida countered that and got WR, Nukeese Richardson. he's only about 5,10" but for sure helps Urban and his goal for "The fastest team in the nation". He strenthened his verbal yesterday..

Phatty, you have a good grasp of the situation and I completely agree with your thinking (as alot of us BSU fans do).

If we don't get the bid, the humanitarian bowl coordinators want to have us play Ball State as an undefeated pairing draw.......but in my opinion we need to play a ranked team (even if it is TCU in the Poinsetta Bowl) just to help make the statement that us mid majors are not getting deserved credit!!!

Whats wrong with ball state? Not ranked? I think they are 12th? and have a legit late first to second round draft pick in QB Nate Davis
 
According to BSU website, BYU and BSU play eachother for four years in a row starting in 2012. I don't think it matters much b/c by then the conferences will have changed enough to have BSU, BYU, Utah all in the MWC. If the MWC still exists, the T.V. dilemma will be there ultimate demise, I hope.:rolleyes:
By then perhaps BCS wont be in our vocabulary anymore.:face-icon-small-ton
 
Ball State announced today that they will not accept a Humanitarian Bowl bid. They will go to the motor chitty bowl. Boise State will more than likely play TCU in San Diego. There is some talk of sending Boise State to the Las Vegas bowl and BYU to the Poinsetta bowl but I don't think that will happen. Sucks that the Poinsetta bowl is two days before X-mas.

The BCS re-evaluates conferences in 2011. Hopefully BSU will be in or on their way to the MWC by then. I don't think that the BCS will ever go away. Too much money changing hands.

Nothing except that it plays into the BCS theory of strength of schedule as Ball State has no wins against a ranked opponent. TCU really doesn't do anything to challenge that theory either as we have beat them before, actually we have never lost to a MWC opponent. We need to play a ranked a team the BCS considers a high level team. Even playing Utah who is ranked 7 wouldn't do it as they would say whoever won just beat another mid level team. It is a lose, lose situation for BSU.
 
It will be interesting to see what happens to the BCS after this year(if anything at all!!!). I do like the idea of a playoff, I think everyone does, but what would they do about bowl games? I think that is an essential part of college football is getting exposure to not he number 1 or 2's, but the 15's and 19's. I think that what ever they do, they must figure out how to make a bowl game like system with well matched teams playing eachother, not for a national title, but for exposure, recruting, and just flat out braging rights!
