Anyone have the battery contact break off on their bca tracker. I have one of the first design models, I bought it back around 02 or 03. I'm also having trouble getting ahold of bca. They don't answer their phone or return my call. I've left messages and have got nothing. I tried calling at different times of the day and nothing. I would like to get my beacon fixed, but if I have to buy a new one it won't be another bca.

OK, so I finally got bca on the phone. They told me that they wouldn't do anything with the older style beacon because they were too busy with the newer beacon. This was the warrenty/serviec dept. So just what does that mean? Are there lots of problems with the new beacons? They also told me that if I send in my old beacon they will sell me a new one for $150. Only thing wrong with mine is the one of the battery contacts broke off. I've only had the batterys out a max of 20 times and the thing hasn't been used in 3 years as I haven't been on any trips out west in that time. I don't think I will spend any more money with a company that does business like this.
Your product is pasts its warranty and sometimes things like that happen. They are busy releasing 2 brand new products. I have used BCA trackers for 4 years and never had a problem. Their offer of a brand new beacon for $150.00 is actually a really good deal. I would have taken that and have a new upgraded version....like anything each year things improve..I wouldn't be sour at the company though...
If this happened within the warranty and they did nothing that would be a different story...but they gave you a pretty good option. Just my opinion

no kidding, I would be very happy if they offered me that on a 7yr old beacon. not understanding why there is an issue its a no brainer
