BCA 30 vs ABS vs Snowpulse vs Avi-vest

ok.....so I'm tossed up between these two at this point http://www.snowpulse.com/en/rubrique/produits/snowmobile-products/protech-vest/

http://www.thewary.com/vest/index.php

Wary or Snowpulse?
both are avi-vest both have padding to go in the vest for tech vest type protection

I know i've read that the snowpulse seems to have more than the claimed 10L storage so id call the 2 even there.

I like how the snowpulse you can have your shovel stored out of the bag.

They seem extremely even from an outside view, really wish it'd be possible to try both on but guessing thatd be hard to work out living in Minnesota. (maybe Wary would be possible?)

For me its narrowed down to these two.
Anyone got a preference one over the other and why? Or just personal experience with one or the other.

(I'll be in Duffy's avy class as well so lets just keep this bag focused please and thank you)

**Edit now I see on one of Warys dealer links they have a optional add on external shovel blade pocket. I really wish i could try these on side by side for comfortability factor. I guess Wary's avi vest is a 2013 model so might be hard to do a comparison at this point :moony:

I was looking at the Wary website and looked at the Avivest. How do they keep that vest from coming off during an avalanche? Once the bag is deployed it seems to me it could get pulled off right over your head, the deployed bag could have a lot of drag compared to your body????

AviVest fits nice..

I have had all 3 snowpulse ,BCA float 30, and AviVest
first of all I had the Snowpulse great HEAVY duty pack and manuverability wasn't the best hard to look up and side to side with helmet on..
but plenty of room for shovel ect..(mine had the metal buckle strap PITA froze up all the time but I think they upgraded this problem)
BCA Cheaper, lighter easier for head movement but bulky and strain on shoulders from straps..
AviVest seem more compact around body cause of the vest style. no bulky feel and plenty of storage front and back..and no strain on the shoulders ...definatly a little warmer and tends to hang down below hips in the back..
they all come with a crotch strap so they wont get pulled overhead..

so overall I perfered the AviVest

justmy2cents..

I have the Snowpulse vest. I really like the vest style. I have never deployed the bag in an avy but the armor has saved me numerous times. It carries the load really well and is very comfortable. The only thing I don't like is that the vest is much warmer than a pack and it traps heat and moisture much more than any pack. I am going to mod my vest a little this year to get some more air flow and put much stronger buckles on it. I don't really trust that zipper or cheap plastic buckle on the vest. I also want some kind of crotch strap so in a violent avy I don't get ripped out of the vest.
