BBQ Grill

Time for a new grill, looking to spend about $400 max for a propane 3-4 burner grill. Looked at Char-Broil infrared grills but reviews seemed mixed. Anyone have an opinion and/or long-term review of a decent grill?

Had a Holland that served us well for over 15 years.
Very durable, sat outside uncovered the whole time year around.

Great for everything except steak & chops.

I won't get another because of this.

Fantastic for fish, chicken, turkey, roasts, loin.

went fom this Weber propane around $600 had it for 10 years

Weber makes a nice grill in all of there price ranges.

we have had the Weber grills in our family for years. Right now we have two of them with one 3 burner and one 2 burner. Love 'em. Cant go wrong with Weber...great quality, lots of affordable accessories and last forever.

Brother in law went with Vermont Castings for a couple of years and now went back to Weber.

Traegers are the bomb. Can get them around $600 now. Home Depot has a knock off but not sure its equal. My $1500 SS Weber collects dust until I have a party and need the grill space.

More than you want to spend but Traegers are great! Will never cook with propane again

Only downfall I have with my traeger is it takes alot more time than propane, especially when it gets cooler out. The taste of the food is much better but I still prefer propane to do steaks. I have a Weber for my gas grill, its been good. Look for cast iron burners and stainless grates, they seem to last the best.

Thanks for the replies. The Webers definitely seemed the best built for what the box stores had.

I am taking a hard look at the Traeger though, might be worth the extra money for its versatility. For those with Traegers, can you still use it to just grill something up quick? Not sure how long it takes to cook something easy like a burger or piece of chicken?

I have a sweet Vermont Castings four burner grill with a rear rotisserie that works awesome. I piped natural gas out to the deck instead of using propane tanks. Picked it up through a plumbing supplier to get a real quality grill, not a cheesy knock off sold in the box stores.

man I should have looked at this yesterday. Just got a Huntington 4 burner from Menards for maybe 250. MAde in America, seems decent, cooked good burgers last night. I'd love to drop more on a grill but at this point in life if a 300 dollar or under grill will last 4 or 5 years and work then I will go with that and keep plugging away at debt.

Had a CharGriller before that last 3 or 4 years, insides rusted up and were going down.

I keep mine outside all year and use them all year but try to keep them covered.

Treager is where its at. A junior is 2-300 bucks now. You will never use propane or propane accessories again..

The traeger heats up fairly quickly, they don't cook much over 400 and less if it is cold, thats the problem if you like your steak seared. It is the easiest smoker you will ever use, will make about anything taste good and won't dry out your meat if you do over cook it. I did sell one of mine and bought a green mountain, it will get to 500 in any weather but it takes longer to heat up. I have only used the gm a couple times so I don't know if I like it better yet. I haven't used propane in 10 years. Find a traeger independant dealer and they will usually let you demo one.
