Barkbuster Front ends on a Nytro

I have 600 miles on mine they have been great, I did bend the end on one, of the lower a-arms, but my subframe is not bent. It seems that when I hit something hard they flex, not causing such an impact to the frame.

I seen dustin james' come appart at fairview. The tie rod pulled outta the upper a arm from what I seen? Could be wrong since I didnt ask.

Timbersled front ends

they held up for about 62 miles or so before the clutch side crumbled both top and bottom, and Alan had me send them back nd he blmed me for the mis function on the a-arms

I wont be running any of their products again, I like the product but how good of a product and or how good of a guy is Alan when he tells guy to send the broken parts in and he will send you out a bran new kit , but in stead he reniggs on what he said over the phone after he gets the product in hand at his shop

Im VERY DISPLEASED with Alans customer service skills !!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah thet was on a APEX not a nytro ,....SORRY :)

This is the first of heard anything other then good about allen and his products and i have been very happy with him.

Just curious what Alan said you did to cause the issue. I only ask because I've heard nothing but great things about Alan, so it seems like an odd response to one of his customers??

thanks,

IronHide,

You need to give us more details if you're going to come on here and bash someone (with your first and only post) who has an excellent reputation. There are always 2 sides to every story, and aftermarket parts that are installed by the user always have the possibility of being improperly installed.

Not saying that is the case here, but as mentioned, Timbersled has an excellent reputation, so you need to back up your bash with more info.

Ditto Modsledr,

Alan is more than a proven commodity!!!! I know of several situations where issues have come up, and he worked with guys who even did the set up inaccurately (mtn tamer) and he worked with the guys to get replacements and made the issue right for the folks...

for me, he has done a great job helping...and does a good job of taking information and incorporating into his product, i.e. he learns and listens....

TimberSled

Sorry it took so long to get back on here

first off I am a long time member of the snowestforum and or the snowmobile community this isnt my first rodeo on a sled

I did not bash on Allen nor his product, I did say however I am VERY DISPLEASED with the customer service I recieved from Allen him self over the phone and or in person at the Puyallup and at the Spokane snow show

the exact instance was , I put his kit on a 2007 Apex, and they crushed at like I said around the 60 to 70 mile mark, I called Allen on the phone about this matter he asked what I hit??!!!, I told him I hit 3 ,3 1/2 foot mogals at harts pass, he asked what was broke, I told him there was one a-arm crushed ( clutch side ) and the other was teaked pretty good, he said he would send me a new arm in the mail
not but an hour latter I removed the kit to find ALL of the bushings where gone, or bearly hangin on, I call him back as soon as I see all of this, and he starts to renig on sending me a new a- arm, finally says why dont you box up the whole kit and send it to me and I will refund me my full retail price of the kit , so I did

3 weeks later I call and call and call till I get a hold of Allen, and ask him where my check is at ??, he goes on and on beattin around the bush and says, the kit was installed wrong and he would not refund the money for it was not his products fault, it was custumer fault, I called BS and he finally offered to buy back one of my a arms and hardware, instead of the whole kit price, nothing eles to do I excepted

So all I am sayin is if a guys word isnt any good over the phone of what he says, I dont need his product
when he says one thing and does another
and if a guy can not stand behind a product like 'the other' aftermarket people out there, I dont need nor want his product on my sled

And yes I do understand it is a "AFTERMARKET" product and there is no warranty, but when a guy spends the kind of money that he want for his kit and it doesnt hold up for 100 miles ??!!! come on

So in my opinion Allen and Timbersled, need so serious CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!!!!!!!!!!!

We Have run Buster front ends on all sorts of Apexes and RX1's without Problems one guy damaged a lower arm ---- that is a better record than the stock frond end -- so you must have crashed pretty good.

But I do agree the bushings could be improved they suck!! But so do the Yamaha stock ones:face-icon-small-win

to bad i dont think we will get the other side of the story, nor do i think that its needed as i think this is hawgwash, to many sets out there with to many happy people, i have a feeling this guy twisted allen the wrong way, JMO,

timbersled front ends

COME ON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a post, of what guys thought of this kit (timbersled front end)
and now I tell you and the rest of the guys of my personnal experiance with Allen and or the timbersled kit, and your callin BS ??!!??!!??!!

whatever dude !!!!!!!!!!!

by the way the stock a -arms lasted close to 1500 miles before I put on the timbersled, and the stockers are back on it at 2200 miles
the timbers might loose 10 ish lbs or so but the strenght isnt there like the stockers ,......PERIOD
