Balance in life....

On another note, for those who think the drag doesn't mean much, the axys is the first sled I ever had that you can feel it lift out of the snow when you pedal with your feet. When I was barely going, a couple of times, I pushed with my feet and you could feel it lift and pick up speed.

My axys 163 2.6 and my buddies same sled balance on 1 ski. On flat ground on both sides, just like you picture. Mine on the narrow ski stance, his in the middle setting.

Thanks for this, this can mean that suspension set up is more important as mine set at 40" wide (center) and did not want sit on one ski.

IMO I Just dont get all the hype. Sounds like they work great for those that want to ride like Burant.

hopefully they have improved alot since i rode the last Pro assault. rode like a brick on the trail and had to wait for the clutch to spool up wondering if I would have enough power to climb the hill I was on.

Unfortunately everyone does not have the same riding ability, seat time or opportunities to ride and as you may find out in years to come that as you age your balance is not what it used to be. Sucks to get old.

I really get a kick out of how you can keep them on a line in the trees. Last I checked the trees in the mountain are always in rows or a straight line:bowl:

In regard to tipping them over, maybe someone will use a straight edge and draw a line from the edge of the ski along side the panels and explain how any of brands will hold an edge if they are tipped over that far. logic would indicate they would all wash out on that steep of hillside.

yes I ride doo, yes I would like to try an axys or cat. I am glad there are different options, if everyone was the same they would only offer one sled and it would be black:eyebrows:

Dude seriously......
Listen to yourself.
You live in Minneapolis.......
Yes the fat sleds panel out.
Yes the pro and the axys both can set the handlebars on the garage floor without hitting a side panel.

Meadow munchies doesn't require a mtn sled.
A flexy trail sled gets it done. :face-icon-small-dis

Living in MN is a moot point. I have ridden in many out West since the late 80's riding machines without risers, 2-3" paddles, less hp and weighed less than the new sleds do now that most would not dreamed of taking off trail. Did we make it to the top? yes, it just took a little more time. Did we have a blast? YES

So if I put a little wider bar on my sled, then it would not panel out right...:face-icon-small-dis

Hummm . . . 3" narrower side panels and 2" higher and narrower running boards. Sounds to me like Doo Doo is trying to mimic the AXYS . . .? That's a good thing! Now get rid of the teeter totter skid, and they might just have a great mountain sled :)

I rode the Axis and really liked it. It feels exactly like my pro but with more bottom end. And I spent a year modding my pro to get it to feel right (KMOD 37" front end) + a lot of suspension tuning. The Axys chassis sets a new standard.
