Was on the road to Scriebers 2 pm friday, unloading.

Heard a clap of thunder.

Two guys near by got a radio call a few seconds after.

Everyone on the hill got electrocuted. Said their helmuts were popping and they felt tingling throughout the body - like they had stuck their finger in an outlet.

Snow was hard most of friday and saturday. . . .

Marty- So the snow did not soften up for you? Where was the parking at?

I really wanted to meet up and ride with everyone BUT I could not get away from work.. Maybe next weekend...

parking was about 4 miles past the Rd12/Rd13 Y.

At 3 or 4 pm the snow softened a bit, down at low elevations, to 8-12 inches. Up high you barely made ski and track indentations.

Snow pellet storms came through regular.

Saturday we took pop can up (hill behind the bathrooms) so didn't see the snow bridge.... but there was a good 4 ft at the bathrooms - baring warm temps AND rain, we should be good for a few more weeks!! :D

Karen, thanks for the update.

It is sounding like Baker may hold up til Memorial weekend. At least this is what I am hoping for...:face-icon-small-hap

Had one day at Baker years ago where our hair stuck straight up in the air from static.

Here's the view from my pad in Hood River.
