new to the baker area but unfamiliar where to ride. Could someone help me out with some info

Its easy to get lost up there especially when weather rolls in and out with flat light and all
I suggest that you have a guide for few times before you strike out with people unfamiliar with the area
Always let someone know where you intend on riding and take all necessary equipment like avvy gear
Luck favors the prepared!!!!!

Also a GPS.....I've been up there before when the fog rolled in..and couldn't even see the tips of my skis...had to follow the bread crumbs on my GPS to get back down! A radio is also a good idea!!

got your text on my way home from the mountain.... missed a great day of riding. all tracked out now :)
I'll let you know when we go next

Nice vid cool song

That is the Baker we ALL want and love

But you gotta block the road so you get it all to yerself!!!!!!

If you are riding in those parts of baker you are nuts, those are called the uglies. Many people have died there or spent the night 50 to 100' in one of those holes. There is a reason why there are no tracks there. Be careful people, learn the areas you ride...

Are u F-ing kidding me?
How irresponsible are you guys
Would you swim with great white sharks with chum in your pockets too cause that's about the same. Your lucky nobody went "in". Wind blown powder across a crevasse won't hold the weight of you and your sled. You were not only risking your own life but also rescue personnel you would have to call if someone fell in.
I'm sorry but that video sickens me. There are people that have died up there and who's bodies are still "in" the mountain

In closing (shame on you)

Go ahead and rip on ME but you know I'm right. If you have a brain that is!!!!!

Great response

Yes a friend of our risk his life repelling down into a crevice to save a guy who was in there for hours, about 75' down. You correct all that is is wind blown snow, sometimes 6" to a foot thick. Its people like you guys that give our sport a bad name. That is one spot to stay out of, unless you just want to be another statistic.

That last vid makes my hands sweat. That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen someone do at baker. Those guys are asking to end up at the bottom of a cravas with the other poor guys that are still frozen up there.

It's always so easy to follow once the first guy goes. Please be careful on that glacier everyone.
