Baker grooming done!

Its retarded they groom as much as possible as fast as possible to get their quota in then let the PRIME time season march april go to hell.........

Failed system.

All the more reason to raise our fees...we're only a little over half way through a good season at Baker. 2 more months of grooming would be nice.

The grooming season is only scheduled to last from December 15th to April 1st (snow permitting) I don't think they are too far off if they ran out of funds today. The snow does not always fall during the 'scheduled season' and it is a real hassle to change the grooming dates.

As an example, we had a 'late season' dump last year AND STILL HAD MONEY to groom, but the groomer was not allowed to use it as 'standard snowmobile grooming season' was officially over. It is not a perfect system, but nothing in life is. Like it or not, the season is on the downhill slide.:face-icon-small-sad

I would love to have grooming in April (and May for that matter) as I don't finish riding till June at the earliest, but each sport has it's designated season where it is funded and catered to, and unfortunately ours is scheduled to end typically no later than April 1st.

I didn't know the trail to Schreibers was ever groomed. Never felt like it to me!:face-icon-small-win

What about the other trail. Has it been cut in yet?

A couple of guys broke the Kulshan trail down last week but it never got groomed. Too hard on the groomer and cost him a lot of $$$ so I don't think he plans on grooming it in the future.

I am getting so tired of this groomer fiasco! Way too much time, effort, and money is being wasted on making the Blue Lake trail so smooth! If half the time wasted on that would be stashed away for spring grooming we would be in much better shape! Sorry to those of you that ride Blue Lake...but the fact is that the road to Shriebers gets used 10x's more than Blue Lake trail...Focus what funds we do have on the heaviest used areas. Many people are willing to pay more for tabs, fees, whatever to have better and longer grooming dates, but many don't feel confident in the misappropriation of effort. As far as the moguls go. It's not a fact of your body handling it, the sleds get flat out busted up from riding that ****! That costs much more to fix than a few extra bucks in fees to have a WELL groomed road.

We as snomobilers, do have a say as to where and when to groom. There are meeting every month during the grooming season. Call your local grooming cordiator. Go to the meetings.
I think there are the same few people that go to these meetings. So we get the same ol thing.

How much would it cost to get him to groom in April? I have had a few perfect rides this year. God loves me. All day in the deep powder, hit the trail on the way out and the groomer is right there or just a little down the road. When you are beat a groomed trail is AWESOME!

Grooming

Going to the groomer meetings has not proven to change anything in the past. The problem is beyond the control of the groomer and lies at the state level. Unfortunately, his funds are allotted based on the total miles he needs to groom, which includes the Blue Lake Trail. The funding can not possibly keep up with the rise in fuel costs and we end up running out of money too soon. If you would like to see additional grooming, join the northwest glacier cruisers and donate money to a grooming fund. This is the only way I can think of to make sure all of our money goes to the groomer to make sure we can go through the spring.

How about the local snowmo clubs create a future's fund or something like that for the groomer operators to purchase fuel from. The airlines are doing why wouldn't it work for small special interest groups like snowmo clubs?
