baker groomer

not sure who the baker groomer is, but not real happy with him. we showed up a little before 9am friday and he was just unloading at the bottom of the road...just off baker lake road. thats where the sh!t show started.. #1... why is he there at 9am and not 6am? everyone that was lucky enough to have the day off was proper fu@ked because the hill to get into the lower lot had not been plowed. which gave some dumb as$ with a white crew cab ram and a 4 place enclosed trailer the right to park in the turn around....As$hole!... trucks stuck on the hill, no turn around, everyone turning a one lane road into a parking lot which became another sh!t show at the end of the day to load up and leave.. but wait theres more. seems like the groomer was there to run up the road once and bounce. when we road out i could still see corduroy but was not impressed with the amount of chop still in the road. it was better, but come on.... do your job... maybe he was looking at his phone while grooming. its early season and I'm happy for the snow, but lets clean up the brain dead bulls!t and do things right... access to the lower parking lot at 8 am would be nice... and a huge middle finger to the white ram truck... Fu@CK YOU DUMB AS$....

on a lighter note,,,, we had a deep ride... peace out

We get the same thing on the north side, comes down the trail with the flipping blade in the air and the tiller floating over the bumps. We get crappy grooming on no specific schedule. What a waste of our grooming money and a waste of his time. Have some pride in your work.

white truck stuck.

It appears to me that the white truck was stuck because he had slid over and was stuck. We got there a ill after and there was nothing they could do. Don't jump to conclusions when u dont know the facts. But yes the groomer should of had it all plowed out. Its what we pay him for and they need to do there job

That makes no sense, when your stuck and no one has anything g to help and help won't be there till later. I would of done the same thing. Maybe the road should of been plowed out and might not got stuck. Put your self in there shoes

I am, and I would not have left my truck in the turn around. Defending a dumb a$s don't make you look good.
But yes. If the hill was plowed he would have been in the parking lot.

There's rules and code that are unwritten. We follow them in the consideration of others. If you don't your just as dumb as they are and part of the problem.

Friday was a damn **** show, we pay a decent amount to register our sleds, I expect the parking lot to be plowed, and the trail to be groomed ESPECIALLY on a holiday weekend when we know it's gonna be busy.

They did groom that day, but man, idk, I saw fresh corduroy but you can see he didn't properly blade the trail and basically groomed in an entire whoop section.

Rode Glacier Creek the next day, and holy ****, it was absolutely pitiful. So many downed trees and looks like the groomer had not touched that trail in weeks, judging by how worn down the trees were from sleds riding over them. Also, the trail was only "groomed" til the first Y (FSR3600) and after that it was a goat trail.

I have no problem paying registration fees, but if the state is going to raise the fees, and we're not going to at least have some sort of regular grooming, I may think twice about registering my sled next year.

I'd gladly pay $100/yr for registration if the trails were groomed regularly. ****, you go ride up in BC, a yearly membership is $150CAD/yr but you get groomed trails on the way up and down the mountain, every day. After a day of hard riding, the last thing I feel like doing is riding a damn snocross track for 10 miles on the way back to the truck!

LASTLY, Canyon Cr is not groomed, so it leaves NO excuse for them to lack on grooming when they have 1/3 less trails to groom!

White truck with enclosed was second truck up. They tried to get up hill forward couldn't make it, so he tried stuffing the nose and backing up the hill which was a stupid ****ing idea. Unloaded sleds and tried again so he left it. Personally I wouldn't bring my four place up but you would also think it would of been plowed to the parking lot? Glad we were able to unhook our two place and turn around in the middle of the road and get truck turned around before a bunch of people showed up looked like it was gonna be s real cluster.

On a side note snow was stupid deep. First ones up the trail and over Sulphur. Got my first three stucks of the season.

randy skillman is more concerned about his equipment and paycheck than a nice groomed trail for us. I have watched him tilling 2ft whoops in the trail with his blade a foot in the air and not a care about what was behind him. I wish Travis Martinek lived up north!!

Haha this is the funniest thread ever. We had a good ride while you all are painting your nails

I've been biting my tongue for years on this subject since I'm local but the other day I decided it was time to complain....

This is the worst grooming I've ever seen. They spend 80% of the time plowing, they dont compensate for heavy snow forecasts, they don't add extra grooming during the holiday, and yes....the grooming that does get done is a joke! If you look at the schedule for the North side he grooms the Nordic trail 2x as much as Glacier. I have ridden a LOT of days this month and have only seen him groom up Past the meadow twice!!! The other times he's only gotten to 1st or second switchback and the kid he has driving didn't even have the tiller down the other day all the way up to the Y.....just track marks!

Personally, I am writing a complaint to winter@parks.wa.gov and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.
