Grooming costs?

Who knows how much it actually costs to do a grooming run?

1: Wages ?

2: Maintenance / Mechanical / sharpening / parts?

3: Gas / Oil

4: Time

5: Fees paid to the state?

I say we can cover all the costs, paid by each Thursday afternoon. They could just put a representitive with a coffee can out, I'd throw in $40 to cut out 18 miles of whoops.

40 to 50 sleds @ $25 = $800 to $1000, and a nice smooth trail on Saturday morning.

It would even be better if there was a sponser at the start of the road, that would take donations and we could have a charity event. Then it's all deductable!

Wow, that's pretty cool!! Problem with paying to do it all the time this time of year is it will be whooped out after the first 20 sleds since it can't freeze.

thanks brodie

Thanks m800 aka brodie? thanks les schwab. maybe next saturday we get it groomed again and have a little bbq with some free beef too! forecast looks good for next weekend! season is still going strong! thanks glacier crusiers for the cat! C Ya Next Weekend!

yeah, but I'd pay to be one of the first 20 sleds!!!! and atleast they wouldn't be 3ft tall and only 1 ft tall.....

I'd be all over this also, $25 for a smooth run would be well worth it.

I am curious to now the costs of grooming the road also, maybe grooming a specific road / area could be possible later in season?

1 Wage of cat $100.00 hour that depends on the size of cat.

2 Maintenance / Mechanical / sharpening / parts, can range in 5,000.00 to 12,000.00 a year

3 Gas / Oil. The gas part it depends on the cat. They can burn 3/4 gal a mile to 1 1/4 gal to mile it all depends on the trails. Just due the math $4.13 gal. The oil part two case of oil "55 gal Hyd"

4 Time? ???????

5 Fees paid to the state? ?????

The other thing is having the groomer cut down the areas that do not melt so we can keep driving to the snow andnot have the usual 1/2 mile dirt patches.

Baker 5/11/08

We rode all day, not a single sled on the mountain besides our group.

sunshine part of the day with 6+ inches of fresh snow past the meadow

not bad for May!
