Bad parking ticket

OK, left my own shop yesterday to find a parking ticket on the windshield. Keep in mind there are no meters or parking lines, just a quiet street. It said "parking in the wrong direction". Yes, I was parked on the side facing the flow of traffic. Anyone ever heard of this one? What is the real problem with it?

Never had a ticket, but I did get a warning about it once. But it amounts to a quick buck for law enforcement.

Not sure about your state, but it's against the law here in ND. Lots of people still do it. It's a traffic hazard according to the state as you cross the flow of traffic to park and to re-enter.

ya it's illegal. also downtown here we have angled parking spots along side main street and if you back into the parking spot you will get a ticket

I "now" know it is illegal but do find it kind of petty considering the location. If it was a busy street, a one way, a street with double yellow in the middle or the like, I can see it. Looks like the cops or stepping up the revenue generators.

As I look outside right now, they isn't any painted lines on the road at all.

Yup its a legitimate ticket you can park on the opposite side of the road facing oncoming traffic, it can be a gravel dead end road and still be illegal as long as it is city or county maintained. :(

Parking tickets, Grrrrr. I have had a lot of them and I mean a heII of a lot of them. I used to park in the employee lot at the airport and it required a sticker on the mirror from the city each month. Our chief pilot's office issued these to us at the first of every month and we had until the 5th to display the new sticker. Well, if I went in on the 2nd or 3rd and did a three to four day trip that meant my truck would sit in the lot for a couple days past the 5th of the month until I got my new sticker on the mirror. I ended up with over 700 bucks worth of these damned tickets. Never did pay them and that was 15 years ago or so the last I got a bill on it.

One evening after a trip one of my flight attendants went out to the parking lot with me to get my truck and I took her back around to the front of the airport to drop her off so she could catch her flight home or wherever she was going. Anyway, it was late at night and I parked my truck in front of the airport by the ticket counters. I grabbed her suitcase and carried it in for her and stayed inside for a little while with her. When I came out a cop was parked right behind me and had put a ticket on my windshield. He was up in front of me putting another ticket on a car a few hundred feet ahead. There was only about three cars total in the area. Anyway, I took the ticket off my windshield, wrote, "f....k you" on it and put it on his windshield and drove off. Got a bill in the mail for it couple weeks later but never paid it either.

Oh, I could go on and on but you guys are getting bored already. I never did agree with those corrupt cops in Denver.

exactly!!! ever heard of a headon. a finger waging and a background check is all you"ll get from me! (unless there's an Obama sticker)

Here in Montrose I have a neighbor who is a Sheriff's Deputy. His patrol car is ALWAYS parked the wrong direction in front of his house. :D

Hey, it's a hunk of metal with an engine, who cares what direction it is facing. Jeesh. I think that particular law is nothing but a way to screw people into paying money to the city or county, bunch of crap..............

Dont park in the verizon wireless lot in laramie wy a fat little turd will tow your truck tell you it is 180 bucks to get it back and then when you get there try and charge a $40 gate fee cuz he doesnt wanna waddle his fat arse down the street:mad:
