BTW, i raced my buddy’s XP and spanked the hell out of him, my sled topped out some where around 80-90 mph when the belt fragmented.

Air Box

I am in the process of re-doing my air intake system. I had it drawing in air from over the clutches and I was not pulling enough air, plus my PTO side was leaner then my MAG side.

So I cut the factory "shelf" that bolts to the underside of the hood to clear the pipes. I have fabbed up a new side out of metal that will close off the shelf from warm air. I have the stock intake tube that is going to go into the top of my alum. airbox like the stock one used to. I have some screens from BR tech for the headlight area that I am going to use so I will be drawing a ton of cold air into the motor that way.

When I get completed I will post some pics.

Does anyone know if the IQR bulkheads have changed between 05 and 09?
I've got the 800 BB engine just sitting on the bench and haven't decided if I should put it in the IQR chassis or 07/08 RMK chassis. What a decision!!!

The IQr bulk heads are the same, with a few minor changes for integrity. If you can find a running 08 0r 09 600r, go with the 800 smallblock, they RIP!

wasn't that you that said you know when a belt is going to blow and you don't need a belt guard. because you change it before it explodes

Yep. Brand new clutch kit, new secondary, aligned perfectly, and a belt with about 300 miles on it. Everything was clean and clutch temperatures were not excessively hot. I think the sled just hit full shift and caused belt failure or the belt was faulty.

BTW, at high speed it didn't hurt my plastic or clutch guard at all.

Hear are some more pics.

I got some Fox Evol x's i am putting on tonight and i have a 151" EZ ryde lined up to buy in about a month or so. If anyone wants a good deal on fox shocks or ez-Rydes, let me know!

Had a few good weekends of riding followed by my track giving up.

Enjoy the pics!

"cool" ... Id like to slap my 16 year old self. Pretty cool to have 12+ years of being an a$$ all recorded in one place! ALSO, if anyone is reading this in the year 2020 and thinking about mountain converting an IQR... DONT. Since that last post i have built or owned at least 3 more iqr sleds that all either were "converted" or un-converted and then back again. WHICH is what happened to this sled. Im sure it lives on and last i seen it had a boondocker turbo kit for a dragon along with a cfi-4 800 swap. Reasoning as to why? Well, the iqr chassis simply put is heavy. A better starting point is probably a 2010 rush or 2011 pro rmk. Even a 2021 i could not recommend to someone that they convert it. (in hindsight ) If you are so hard on things that you need an IQR for mountain riding my back suggests you post a video ;) (y)

Also, it is of my opinion that the 2011/12 cat chassis sleds are MUCH better for a starting point to mod for "back country sending". If i was going to race on a snowcross track id take my 2011 cat over a 2021 polaris unless someone wants to pay me to change that opinion. They are a great sled and always will be (both the cat racers and the GREAT IQR). I hope this doesn't change someone's attitude with wanting to mod their IQR, especially if they are 16. NO REALLY!!! i mean that, defy authority! I did. And still do! I found this looking up B.O.C. as some point about a year or two after this post i found out that the engine i paid $3600 for was not built to what it was claimed and this caused multiple performance issue. Mainly the engine locking up after the pto crank bearing started sawing through the case melting the crank seal. "it was running better than ever though?" - YEP. that's how that works LOL

Sam Rogers at X games iirc... I probably won't ever get a pic of me on a sled THAT bad ass, but im not ruling it out yet. So i guess its still in the "goals" which with anything in life always helps! Failing is more important than success because it lets you find out who you are, introduces you to good people... and if it doesn't kill you ? Well ya might just find a cute doctor or a lawyer ( DM me i need advice on both). @snowweststaff BRING BACK THE G-DANG CHEERS EMOGY!!!!!!
