Axys 800 motors

Have heard everything far and in between on the axys motors.... Are they more reliable now or are they having the same problem as the pros? Just bought a 16 800 axys 163 with 3" paddles with SLP pipe, can, and clutching put on about 80 miles ago, sled has 800 miles and was wondering if the motor is somthing to be concerned about anytime soon? Would like to hear how many miles some of you have had and how the motor has held up

I'm at 1200 with no issues. My compression is a little lower than I would like. I've heard of no Axys failures.

Top end rebuild after 2000 miles depending on where summer lands for you. Good maintenance IMO.

Mine has 800 miles no motor problem, but wiring harness/ relays are becoming a problem for some. Know of a few rental axys that have 2000+ miles still going strong

Like any sled, there is some issue. Just depends f your sled was built on a Friday or a Wednesday. I have seen some stock ones loosing a PTO piston and also some turbo ones. I have not seen any skirts breaking which plagued the Non-HO engine. The new HO pistons are better for sure.

Way more reliable than the older motor. I usually only get 500 miles out of a Polaris motor. Axys now has 1000 miles, and no issues other than electrical stuff. My compression at 5000ft tested yesterday at 100 psi on both cylinders. Just slightly warm motor. What's everyone else seeing for compression?

Mine shelled out the PTO piston at 113 hrs ~1200 miles. It was the fourth ride of its second season. Sled is bone stock and well cared for. I never had engine issues with the Pro but I never rode them more than one season. Riding the Axys a second season appears to have been a mistake in my case. New motor covered by warranty without any hassles yet... Should be picking it back up today.

My new motor seems to have gone down as well with about 2-3 hours time on it. Was running great, taking it pretty easy like you should with a new motor just a few brief bursts. Plenty of snow for cooling, never got warm but lost 1000 rpm rather suddenly. Ran the 8 miles out on both cylinders, no codes, plugs look good, PTO side getting a little wet looking. Feels like it lost compression. I will check it tonight, dealer is closed today.

I pressed the dealer for an explanation as to why it burned down initially. The best I could get was that it was just a Polaris motor. I bet it is a bad injector leaning out that side and it has done it again.
