Racer's Edge has come out with an incredible solution for your rear suspension. Don't want to shell out $3000-$6000 for an m-10. Below are some pictures of their little set up. It's basically there way of putting out a more affordable option then the m-10. What's included is below

-Double Adjustable Coil Over Shock (compression and rebound) just got back from their shop and let me tell you that this setup is going to be unreal!!

-Chromoly swing arm

-billet brackets

-UHMN slider blocks

-Aluminum tunnel stiffener's

-Stainless Steel hardward

-Aluminum cross shaft

I've got a couple of pictures with a cat skid, doo skid, and yammi skid just to show what they involve and look like. If you want any more info, pm me, or you can contact Darryl Baker at 403-254-8686

You can put a deposit in with Darryl to get in line for this.

What's the ballpark pricing on it?

i didnt' want to list prices in the general forum as to not piss some of the peeps off for not having this in swapmeet. pricing on the cats and yammi is 1995.00 and doo's are 2195 (have some extra brackets for support) During the development of this setup, i was a bit skeptical. after seeing the finished product today, you guys are up for an awesome setup.

Yup got a few of these waiting to be installed next week, should really smarten up the xp's.

was that your sleds sitting in his shop. about half a dozen rev's waiting for the procedure up there right now.

Darrel just called me yesterday on this, now that I've seen pics, I'm definatly impressed. I think it will work great on the turboed Yammys as well to help keep the front down on the big stuff. It should ride awesome too!

$2000 for
-Double Adjustable Coil Over Shock
-Chromoly swing arm
-billet brackets
-UHMN slider blocks
-Aluminum tunnel stiffener's
-Stainless Steel hardward
-Aluminum cross shaft

Too much money!
The racer's edge m10 may work slightly better than a timbersled but compare the product if racer's edge was selling the mountian tamer they would price it at $4000

$1700 timbersled

I think the one you posted is my buddies. Its one of the first they have installed, he lives just up the road from Baker.
I'm going to install mine myself.

I have one question how can you use the stock front shock on say a Yamaha and still have a good skid??? The front shock on the Nytro blows same with other models.

There is no question that the Timber setup is value friendly, but there is no way they work like an M-10. If this Racers Edge setup works like an M-10, then 2000.00 is a better buy than 1700.00 for something that won't keep the front end down. I have seen alot of Timber setups, and they can't seem to stop the catwalk effect. I am not saying there bad, it just depends on what you want your suspension to do.

I agree with Neil, plus you have to remember that $1700.oo US is almost $2000.oo Canadian right now. To address the front shock issue, I don't think the front shock on the Yamaha rear skid, is the problem with the Yamaha rear skid. I think you will find that the biggest problem with the Yamaha rear skid, is the rear arm and shock.

squeeking at the cheeks are we??lmao All you guys cry cuz the m-10 is waaaaaaay to expensive and you can't afford it. darryl comes out with an alternative and you still cry. can't keep ya happy, can we?? stick with your timbersled and let us know how it runs for ya.

$2040.00 to be close there captain after exchange depending on the day.

I didnt' get a chance to ride the stock skid on the nytro, but I always thought the stock skid on the apex was one of the best for running down beat up moguled out roads. I agree that I think the rear portion of the yammi's is the problem for keeping the front end down with boost. I guess I will find out after running it this year. Anything darryl touches on the rear skid seems to work awesome. I'm banking this won't be any different.

Good to see more choices as stock rear skid is not suited to boost very well, transfers way too much. I never had a problem setting up Mtn Tamers to work with boost and saved 38lbs (weighed it) on Nytro and 36 on Apex (would be 30 on each if I used stock drop brkts). Is this setup just to control transfer for climbing, or are there any weight savings ?

Slightly better ? LMAO Obviously your not speaking from experience.

Timber isnt even in the same league as a RE M-10.

checking his past threads, I dont' think he's even boosted let alone riding a timbersled suspension. another wannabe I guess. I'll admit you pay a good price for Darryl's stuff, but it flat out works. when you get a name like that, you can charge for it. some people don't want to pay, but many will

When you buy suspension like this or a m10 you are looking to keep the front end down. That's what the m10 does and if this suspension does the same thing for a lot cheaper, who cares if it doesn't have all the nice looking parts and pretty fox shocks like the timbersled. Those who are boosted especially with the 4 strokes are looking for functionality and that's what the m10 does and hopefully this suspension will do as well.

when i first saw this setup (or one identical to it) on a ski-doo thread a few weeks ago, it looked simple and would appear to couple like an m-10 rear arm. i assumed it would be an affordable way to couple your skid, which there is a pretty good demand for. the cost was suprising though. if you look at what your physically getting, it's not that much. most people have a pretty good idea of what shocks, torque arms, etc. cost. the design principle (and patent?) was already there so in effect you are paying substancially for the r&d. i'll be the first to say that the racers edge built sleds i have seen look like works of art. based on that, i would assume this setup would work well. as well as a $5K cr racing setup, i highly doubt it, nor should it based on the cost. does it work better than a brand new non cr m-10? i don't know but if you google m-10, rich powersports will sell a brand new 159 m-10 for $1650. is this the same m-10, i don't know. we're not big m-10 people because of their normal weight and we don't typically push 300+hp. in the end, time will tell if it's worth the price. i also gotta add that if this was a no-name company that brought this out, it would be interesting to hear the response. would it be a) that's cool, it's a more affordable version of an m-10 or b) for that price, save some more until you have enough for the real thing.
